One of my all time favourite bands.
Jello Biafra is a genius!

Pearl Jam covered Bleed for Me at the 2004-10-02 Sports Arena, Toledo, OH, USA show.

Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables, In God We Trust Inc, & Plastic Surgery Disasters rule in my opinion!

for as great as they were they also fell just as quick. frankenchrist is pretty average at best. even though i like the topics covered and even the lyrics are pure dk, it just doesnt fit together very well anymore. i havent even bothered to listen to bedtime for democracy yet. even though that has to be their best album title, maybe the best punk album title ever. i just dont wanna hear another mediocre punk album. you know if green day or blink 182 put out frankenchrist id probably think they were a very good band, but compare it to fresh fruit or plastic surgery its just subpar.

but i agree jello is in a league of his own. he's a very staright shooter. he calls it how he sees it and doesnt jump around on issues or compromise.

Which album do you rate as better?

Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables or Plastic Surgery Disasters?

I think I'll go for FFFRV but jussst, PSD is very close.

  • very few people have the integrity Jello has, and few bands have the integrity of the Kennedys. As someone who considers himself a radical, the Dead Kennedys were fundamental in providing me with information and inspiration for becoming radical. We often praise the Ramones, The Clash, and with good reason. But it often seems the Dead Kennedys get left out of the discussion.

I love Plastic Surgery Disasters! It's almost a perfect album. I could listen to Moon Over Marin all day/everyday and never get tired of it! I wish I could play guitar like East Bay Ray.

I always thought that 'Give me Convenience or Give Me Death' was their best album, although It's a compilation of sorts. 'Plastic Surgery Disasters' comes 2nd.

what do you all think of Jello's other albums? not really talking about his spoken word albums, which i dig, but the ones like the 2 or so with the Melvins, the no wto combo (krist novaselic, kim thayil), his new one the audacity of hype....? he's been on a few singles for other alternative tentacles artists, too.

i never noticed it until i was listening to his first album with the melvins and looking at the liner notes yesterday and then looked him up on discogs, but Adam Jones from Tool plays on some alternative tentacles releases

Longtime DK fan, since about 1983. Pearl Jam also did Bleed For Me in London, Ontario in 2005 and it fucking rocked. I can't believe people are even debating the best album, it's Fresh Fruit by a fucking mile.

P.S. Best song goes to: Holiday in Cambodia

I love his album with D.O.A: 'Last Scream of the Missing Neighbors'. It's awesome.
