Can we call this the "Robin Givens Syndrome" yet?

    From the link:
"While Chris is reflective and saddened about what happened, he is really happy to be with the woman he loves."

He's "saddened about what happened"??? Like he tripped an fell and his fist accidentally pummeled her trying to break his fall... C'mon...

I could care less what she does, it's her decision, but you gotta wonder what she is thinking.

What a mistake on her part! She's got looks, money, a career, etc and she is going to let him get away with beating her? Goes to show even people we would think have good self-esteem, don't!
He will beat her again. Stay tuned!
    Save room for dessert!
  • Take it from someone who's been there. He won't stop. At least not with her. It will get worse next time. She has to leave him for her own safety and so he can learn that you can't abuse women and get away with it.

I think people underestimate the power of emotional attachment once it's been fully activated. To me, that's the main explanation for the illogical and dangerous decisions people make like this.

  • it's sad.

shows you how little she thinks of herself right now and how much control in the relationship he has.

Agreed.. I think we'd all like to imagine that, if it happened us, we'd leave and have the guy shot... but I don't think we can really know how we'd deal with us til it actually happens :(

I don't give a fuck for her music but it's a sad time for her.... especially now she's gonna be berated for getting back with him. It's her choice and we can all see from the outside looking in that it's probably not a good choice. I do think some people deserve a second chance... I'm just not sure about this kinda situation.

that's my feeling too. it's a bad choice for her to go back....they're both really young, so maybe there's a chance for him to get his head screwed on straight, but i dunno. i haven't much faith in men like that.

She pretty much took alot of heat off him, and kinda put it on her shoulders?????

Whats this say about her mental state? Lots of woman have no where to go when faced with this situation, maybe they are housewives with no jobs,w/kids and its tough to make a break.....This chick can buy her own country to get away from this dude.....I have a feeling this tool wouldn't hit a dude, under just about any circumstance, he seems like a pussy

While, yes, emotions and love can be strong, she should wait 'til he takes anger management classes, therapy, or something before taking him back. The picture of her after the beating shows it wasn't just one hit. He beat her! The pic only shows her face and what's visible. Can you imagine the lumps on her head, and /or the rest of her body. He beat her!
She really needed to see if he is willing to do something about his anger, and yes it is an anger issue. He could had walked away if she provoked him. There is never a good reason to hit a woman!
He will do it again if not treated for anger! Those hits are from someone with anger problems!!
    Save room for dessert!
