maybe a Daughter, Ledbetter, and say...........Present Tense it would be up there with one of their greatest shows. Crowd is great, coming off the Ice Bowl, and most important my 1st show. Great show.

  • It's a shame that was your first show. I was there too and it was an amazing night, but you would have enjoyed it so much more if you froze your balls off at Alpine the show before. It was special being a part of both of those crowds. Everyone knew that they were part of something. It really felt like we were in it together, band included.

    19. With my older brothers. That night seemed magical. For me and the band. The bootleg makes you feel the cold from the night before and the warmth they have towards Chicago. Truely a great first concert!!

Agreed, truly a memorable thing to be a part of.

That's the way it happened with me too. My first show was in '98 at Alpine, and I didn't have a ticket until the day of the show. I found out my friend was going, was able to get a lawn ticket, and pretty much left to go to the show right away. Can't imagine how my life would be different if I didn't get that ticket.

This 2000 show though, I still consider it the best show I've seen.

I was at both Alpine and that show at Allstate... both great, epic nights... That version of release they open with is unreal... that whole Chicago show seemed to last 10 minutes... when it ended, it felt like I'd been in a time warp...

by the way, anyone know anything about the poster for that show, (the clown with the gun)? I've heard people say it wasn't an official poster or something like that... when i do see it for sale (very rarely,) it goes for 1000 bucks... what's the deal with that?

that poster along with pitt '00 and another i cant remember werent officially licensed or the legal shit fell through before they went on sale... so they are extremely small print runs and special simply because they werent available at the shows... that and the pitt one are 2 of my favorites though... id love to get them if they werent so expensive

  • i missed this show. Sold my ten club tickets to my sister's friend. I was 13 or 14 at the time.

My sister ended up getting Front Row Center seats & drinking from Eddie's wine bottle!!!!!

A child's rhyme stuck in my head...
It said "Life is nothing but a dream."
I've spent so many years in question
To find I'd known this all along.

That poster wasn't licensed by the band. I bought it on ebay for something like 150 sometime shortly after that concert. The seller ended up not selling it to me. They probably knew it would be worth a lot more.
  • Um... St. Louis had a stellar set-list in 2000... could off only been better if they played Baba... I had to wait til 03 to hear that... In 2000 they played the songs I requested via email. I asked them to save the debut of "u" til STL and then state of love and trust and i think I got id... i just remember i pooped myself during U..

In 2003 my friend ran the Soundgarden and LiveNirvana website... He got an email from Matt supposedly and didn't believe it was Matt requesting boots of Soundgarden. It was a week before the Urbana show and he asked Matt to make sure PJ played 3 songs and he would believe it was him... Sure enough PJ did and Matt got Soundgarden boots.
