Footsteps and Times of Trouble

I was listening to the Temple of the Dog album just now, which I haven't done in forever, and I realized (how did I never realize this before?) that the song Times of Trouble basically IS Footsteps, arranged slightly differently. So I was wondering, does anyone know the story behind these two songs?

  • Yeah, it's come up a few times on here.

  • I finally got that album a couple of weeks back. It pissed me off that Ed didn't sing anymore than he did on the record. He is 50 bazillion times better than Chris Cornell.

haha! that was my post XD...yeah just think of the time line of how the events unfolded...

andy dies-->MLB broke up-->chris writes music and joins stone jeff and some others to make temple-->stone and jeff start "mookie blaylock" using mccready and matt cameron from temple to record demo tapes-->eddie over dubs his lyrics over demo tape (one of which was footsteps)-->temple was made (which includes times of trouble)

somewhere in there, stone had to have written the music to footsteps/times of trouble...most logical answer would be between the 3rd and forth section and then stone (before chris decided to use it) put it in the mookie demos which got into the hands of eddie who wrote lyrics

P.S. i didn't mean to say Matt Cameron was from temple...i know he was from soundgarden...i just meant that they probably came up with the idea to use him to lay drum tracks down for the demo when they were making temple
