it saddens me that so many people are selling their collections. and really, how long will the couple hundred dollars that they might make actually last? certainly not as long as the posters, bootlegs, etc.

what good is a framed pj poster if the wall you hang it on is located in a home in forclosure?

times are tough. dont get me wrong i LOVE my pj collection, but I would sell it in a heartbeat to keep my house... or help my sister keep her house...

for me selling some of my posters is so I can save to obtain the ones I really want to get. There are only a handfull of PJ posters that I am selling and only 1 that I want. I am thining out the collection so I can have a few pieces that I really want.

    Bingo!

Getting rid of extras or prints I know I will never get framed, in order to get some that may find their way on the wall. ;)

With the Eddie/ITW insignia posters and ITW lighters and such... wouldn't it be ironic if during the Eddie tour that, while he's singing the Into The Wild songs on stage, that out at the merchandise booth if they would sell money clips with the ITW insignia too? :D

...but if it's not allowed by TC, then why should they make an official forum for it? Did they change the poster selling for profit policy? I mean, it seems they've gotten much more lax about it.

do you see the way economy is. every penny counts to people. some people lives literally are depending on those posters. it doesnt saddden mean at all. what saddens me is the gov't handing out bailouts to corporate america while the working man has to sell things that mean something to them just to live. what a great country the usa is. land of the free home of the poor

no shit, sherlock. maybe that's why it's so sad. the fact that people have no other way of making ends meet than by selling their collections is sad. did you think i didn't know why so many people are selling now? i haven't been living in a cave.

i wish there was some type of loan program we could do here on the board. for example, if "joe" needs $200 and has a beneroya vinyl, maybe someone could give "joe" $200 in exchange for the records. when "joe" gets back on his feet and can afford to buy the records back, he can. if not, they become the property of the lender.

maybe it's wishful thinking to believe that no one would abuse a system like that.

I only sold my doubles. Cheap to so that others could reap and enjoy the benefits. I didn't really make any profit. $6 plus a dollar shipping per cd is pretty fair. Some folks are on hard times though.

Not just for posters, but tickets and all the other crap. I hate digging through the Given To Fly section during the tour to find a seat and we could dedicate more space to meaningful threads like "Ed Looks Hot 2".

Oh I agree completely about a ticketing forum - plus that would make it easier for them to spot a scalper... plus if everyone who posts has to be a TC member, they can then punish anyone who's scalping. Poster forum... if they're allowing people to speculate and trade posters for profit, then it would be nice if they made a forum about that too. I just think they are being passive and not enforcing their own rules against poster sales for profit.

as long as its not a poster from a 10c poster sale you're free to do whatever the fuck you want with the poster. i dont really see what the big deal with people selling there posters they got from concerts.

you will never ever get a system like that with pj fans. the notion of pj fans being honest people is a joke.some fans sell there 10c tickets for money. also why would someone pay big bucks for a benny hall and then give it back once "joe" gets back on his feet.

  • It takes a close eye and serious time and moderation for trading and selling stuff on an official site. Most likely a headache that TenC doesn't need or want to mess with. Can't say I blame em. I made a Traders Corner on my site for members though so they can sell, trade and buy or share there wish lists..

exactly. that's why i said it was wishful thinking. i'm a little more optimistic than 95 percent, though. maybe 50 percent. i've been screwed before by pj fans. therse board members are not saints.
