I always say to myself "god I want to win the lottery". But, I never play it. It's time for that to change tonight.

I hate to disagree with you, but I am quite certain that today is my last day at work because I hold the winning ticket!

OMG! YES!! How badass would that be?! Of course, they probably wouldn't accept the money...or would in turn give it to a children's charity. hehehehehehehehe

I am thinking it is like %30-35 to taxes. Right now the cash option is $137,800,000. So, if it is %35 you are still going to clear $89.5 million.

I'm willing to bet it's higher than that. I bet taxes on a sum like that are close to 50%. You get taxed 35% once you hit 6 figures.

Federal tax bracket can go as high as 39.6%.

If you live in a state with a state income tax, you could reach the 50% mark. Thankfully I do not. So, 39.6% would be what I would pay.

No shit? Figured it'd be higher... there must not be much separation after a certain point.

What state do you live in and how do they fund their budget?

I live in Washington State. They make up for not taxing our income with taxing everything we buy with a hefty sales tax.
