my electric bill was $56.00!!!!
so much better than my $350.00 PLUS bills from the house.

Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
I'm going to be shopping for a place this year and I'm wanting to get a house, but just for shits-n-giggles I'm going to entertain the idea of having a condo. Even though, with a condo, I'm not going to have a garage or anywhere outside where I can work on my bike or wash my car. Two things that are mega important to me in my upgrade from a town house. That and I'm honestly looking forward to having a yard to cut :P

I own a condo with a garage that has plenty of space to wash my car or fix my bike. And althought I do have a small yard, it is cut for me .
There is no "normal" for condo electric/utilities costs. It all depends on the unit itself, how it is heated, how well it is insulated, whether you are an end unit or in the middle, etc.

I have a condo/townhouse (with concrete walls between me & the units on either side) and my utility bill is similarly low for gas & electric combined. In the fall & spring when I don't need to heat or cool the place, it can even be as low as $15.
i used to work at arby's in high school and we would make some crazy shit for our employee meals. one of them was a beef n chedder on a sub bun. probably cost me a couple of years of my life but man did it taste good.
d'oh!
I'm sure my electric bill will go up for summer when I use the air conditioning. I'm a middle unit all around...and have the shade of a tree so I'm hoping it won't be bad come summer.
I do have to say my condo is 1/5th the size of my house though.
Oh and my house had a home owners association fee that was roughly the same amount.
More like "Dough!"

I'm living in a town house now and my electric bill is pretty low, unless it gets super cold or super hot. If I'm too hot or cold I just put on/take off clothes as need-be . I've got a concrete/brick wall on one side, another town house on the other side separated by a pretty thin wall and no one under me so I don't get to enjoy sharing someone else's heat. In the spring and fall I'll usually leave the windows open and leave my AC/heat off for a month or two at a time. My bill has been as high as $150 and as low as $15.
I asked if that cost was normal because I've always heard that town houses are hard to heat and cool from the ceilings (usually) being higher up than most places, so there's more ambient space that gets heated. I moved into the place where I am now and yup, sure enough it's a pain to keep warm/cool. I thought that people may have similar feelings about condos.
