Dude if your talking about that commercial from about a year ago were the dude sounded like Eddie, it was not him! There was an article were the singer was talking about it and everything. It was for WALMART.

Then there was a commercial for a car, but it wasn't SEVERED HAND, it was a rip off of SEVERED HAND.

Ed just recently said using there songs in commercials is the worst thing he could think of doing. So don't expect them to sell a song to put in a commercial.

Thank you, I just found the commercial on youtube. It sounds like severed hand, I do not think it is a rip off. They obvously sold 5 seconds of the song otherwise they would of faced copyright charges from Pearl Jam

Well you don't know much then do you. Ed just said in an interview about illegal downloading, he said that selling music for commercials is the worst thing he can think of to do, so they will raise ticket prices instead. Keep believing what you want, but you will just be uninformed.

PS- Think about it for a minute. They spend all that money buying a Pearl Jam song and then don't use Pearl Jam's, they hire musicians and they play it themselves. Come on you gotta know better than that.

Ed was also best friends with Johnny Ramone who was a big time republican...maybe he's drawn to people who behave the opposite of what he'd do?

Its one thing to disagree with policy. When the previous post suggested Ed said they would never license music for commercials "Worst thing you could do" I think you are saying alot

I personally am glad PJ do not do this, if they did I could also give a shit. I still have all the respect in the world for the Who

What great songs they have composed

I'm really not suggesting it, Ed just said it. It was very recent. I guess, I'll try and find the article and post it.

Okay, I searched everywhere and can't remember the interview, I read that. However in Rolling Stone's Anniversity Edition, he touches on it a little bit. When asked what can a band like Pearl Jam do to survive illegeal downloading Ed said in part " The only other option to raising ticket prices is sponsorship, which is even more abhorrent."

That's weird. Isn't Miller Lite sponsoring the VA Beach show?
