New Album...coming in the fall

I know this has been discussed on this board previously...but from the sounds of the early album details...this might be a little bit more experimental than the 3 previous albums. I like the fact that Brendan O'brien is on board for this one...I would love to see PJ do some more acoustic songs on an album...What's everybody think? In the rolling stone snippet on the album...Ament says that Eddie has "caught a new wave" from the Into the Wild album...which sounds to me that we might hear more banjo and cowbell!

    I think the band will be more open and experimental for sure. The guys most likely feel like we al do. Relieved. No politics needed. I see the guys enjoying this process more.

    I love to see the enthusiasm, but I agree. We know within a minute or two of ANY details that are published in interviews or articles. Regurgitated weeks old news from an individuals point of view is not really worthy of a new post. Even a cursory scan of the topics would root out the information posted in this thread.

    I love PJ acoustic, but make sure it's Pearl Jam, and not Eddie Vedder. Would hate to see him take total control. Not into Into the Wild.

    more experimental then their last 3 albums? apart from avocado the other 2 were extremely experimental compared to Yield. Binaural and Riot Act were both very different.. I love experimental Pearl Jam.

    Indeed. I simply think the guys feel relieved like many. I bet they just kind of sit back and relax without trying to make a statement his album and enjoy the music for what it is.

    Agreed. I don't think the new album will be experimental at all. Just maybe a little more mellow (Like Yield :D )...

    I mostly agree. The best songs on both those albums were the more mellow, experimental tracks. I'm perfectly ok with that. It was the token rockers that sucked ass on both those albums... they sounded so tired, generic, boring, and rote. Enough of the lame attempts at thrashing punk songs guys... it's beyond you. If you want to rock, go for the groove... like 1/2 Full or Inside Job's climax. Another song like Get Right or Comatose or Save You and I'll puke.

    I think that dreamweaver had it right. When I read "New Album... coming in the fall", I'd expect to see something relating to the topic that he created. Wouldn't you? Instead, it had nothing to do with his claim in the title. Just a catchy-title to ensure people read the post, but absolutely 0% to do with what he actually wrote about. It wasn't "New Album... coming in the fall???".

    I'd like to know where/how the OP knows the album is coming out in the fall. I haven't heard dates... I'm eager to know. I was hoping late spring, or maybe early summer. And since bands usually don't play tour dates until after a new album is released, this is pertinent information for those of us trying to book summer vacations. If he's claiming the "New Album ...coming in the fall", I'd love to know how he knows this.

    Cardinal, please bold what in the OP's writings below had to do with a "coming in the fall". If you do, I will gladly apologize to OP.

    First things first.....maybe he assumes its coming in the fall......it doesnt state anywhere that a thread title must repeat in a thread....welcome to the internet.....your grabbing at strings and making excuses for the rude behavour to the OP.     Have some respect...act like an adult...its not hard its just......its what your parents try to teach when your young....most children understand it.

    Maybe he really thinks its coming in the fall....he doesnt need to be an expert or have inside info to state that....its his opinion....he is allowed to have this.     I truly, truly believe that PJ will do a mini tour this year. I feel the album will be out in the fall and a world tour in 2010......but I feel that some shows will def be played this summer, Mark my words.

    Let me first off apologize for the subject of my post...I put "New Album...coming in the fall". When in all actuality I should of put "I'm excited for the new album...coming in the fall". Let me clarify that I don't know if it's going to come out in the fall, I'm just going by what I've read so far. I didn't take the "Posting etiquette" class that dreamweaver apparently took before. I'm simply excited for the new album and wanted to get some ideas on what people thought about the direction of the new album...that I PREDICT will be released on October 20, 2009 All of you members that clearly aren't experiencing pms cramps thank you for welcoming me in this rabid PJ community!
