It baffles me that people don't understand copyright infringement, and it baffles me even more that someone would promote it on the band's website.

I was waiting to see how long it would be before something like this would happen w/ PJ prints & posters.

There is a whole drama going on over at EB over a guy selling fake Bannon, Horkey, Bertmer, and Fairey prints.

Buying a fake Jamily Poster for $8 makes a hell of a lot more sense than spending ridiculous amounts of money on one.
Do you remember Rock & Roll Radio?

I find that funny since Fairy bascially takes other peoples photographs and makes them into posters...
Thats a lovely accent you have. New Jersey?

I almost bought one of those fakies until i saw the size - if they were around the same size as the real ones, I might've bought one just to pin in the garage.

At least this dude tells potential buyers ahead of time these are REPROS .

Isn't doing this against eBay policies though? Reproducing another person's art for your own profit without permission is considered piracy, no?

I hope someday Ames Bros could re-print the '96/'98 posters! Add the AmesBros logo on the bottom right of the poster, print that it's a reprint etc.. hundreds of people wouldn't care! Many out there would love to have these posters; poster's they attended year's back, memories, experience etc.. Not everybody has hundreds of dollars to buy the original print from year's back. Think it would be good idea, cause it will .. hahaha .. throw off user's who flip/buy posters on eBay!

no body push me to buy anything, but I'm sick and broke for paying $100 for a $25 print, I know that's nothing for some here but the second editions would be a cheap and legal option. Maybe with a presale they will know the amount of print,so this way they don't end up with 200 copies laying around.

having second and repro print runs undermines the value of the originals

something the artists do not like.

now is a good time to buy if you have money

once the tour starts, the prices will go back up

I like them limited-makes me feel like I have something special in addition to great art

this makes no sense. artists don't see a dime when a poster they set at $25 is being flipped for $200.....if there was a second run, they'd see some money, especially for the 98s that are a major pain in the ass to come by.

Didnt say it made sense, but its true, artists prefer to keep the runs limited. Of course they could sell more if they printed more.

it makes sense from a FLIPPERS perspective......
    Take me piece by piece.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
  • YIELD2! you know you shouldve come to me first with this information! now ive missed my chance... anyone who thinks this is a bad idea needs to chill... if the artists dont want people making copies then they should reprint some... they arent making anything off the current inflation

if this ebayer is a board user, shoot me a PM and we'll do some illegal business :D
