Gotta go w/Achtung Baby. And the Zoo TV tour was absolutely mind blowing...

As an album, I have to go with Joshua Tree....despite the Zoo TV tour being off the charts.
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.

I'm having a seriously hard time deciding

    Joshua Tree:

    Running to Stand Still
    Trip Through Your Wires
Where The Streets Have No Name
    In Gods Country
    Exit

    Achtung Baby:

    Zoo Station
    Ultraviolet
    One
Even Better Than The Real Thing
    The Fly
    Acrobat

ARGH! Why did I do this today~!

2 days ago I would have said Achtung Baby, but I listened through all my U2 cd's the other day and Joshua Tree was kicking my ass. I think I'd go with that.

Though I seriously think Zooropa might be my fav.

    The Joshua Tree hands down
  • Absolutely Achtung Baby. And here's why:

One > Where the Streets Have No Name
Until the End of the World > Trip Through Your Wires
The Fly > One Tree Hill
Mysterious Ways > Red Hill Mining Town
Ultraviolet > Running to Stand Still
    Acrobat > Exit
So Cruel > Mothers of the Disappeared

What's the logic behind those pairings, if you don't mind my asking? It seems kind of a random and arbitrary way to pair songs. Sure, So Cruel is better than Mothers of the Disappeared, but what do those songs have in common that you'd be comparing them anyway?

I'll do it track by track for kicks.

zoo station > where the streets have no name
even better than the real thing > still haven't found what i'm looking for
one > with or without you
until the end of the world = bullet the blue sky
who's gonna ride your wild horses > running to stand still
so cruel < red hill town
the fly > in god's country
mysterious ways < trip through your wires
tryin to throw your arms around the world < one tree hill
    ultraviolet < exit
acrobat = mothers of the disappeared (don't care for either)
    love is blindness (better closer)

Ok, looking at that, I think I have to follow my gut and go with Achtung :)

For me it's a no brainer. Achtung Baby is my favorite album. Ever. It is absolute perfection. I never even considered myself a U2 fan until the first time I heard The Fly on the radio. Gives me chills just thinking about it. 8-)

I now appreciate The Joshua Tree a lot more than I did then, but it's still an inferior album IMO. I actually prefer Zooropa over Joshua Tree for that matter.

Joshua Tree is up there with Grace and Agaetis Bryjun for my favorite albums ever....actually it is probably my favorite. So my answer is JT but Achtung Baby is amazing as well.

Achtung Baby. Though looking at the individual tracks, it's very, very tough. I listen to Achtung Baby more, though Joshua Tree songs end up on more mixes.

call me a fool for the old school but I'm gonna have to say The Joshua Tree. the remastered edition sounds SO GOOD.

i certainly love Achtung Baby, and this was almost a toss up.

Achtung Baby. But, "Bullet The Blue Sky" is my favorite U2 song. "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses" is creeping up there though. More so because of the lyrics. Unfortunately, they apply to me and someone else right now...

  • Joshua Tree.. It is a masterpiece. Achtung Baby is a close second, with NLOTH at third.
