Harvest Moon and Long Road same melody?

To me it sounds close, I've just heard Harvest Moon for the first time and I can see similarities.

Seems like a reasonable question under these circumstances

first of all, you're just hearing harvest moon for the first time (i thought i was late to the game), and, second, you think it sounds like long road.

it just seemed like the question had to be asked.

Not the whole song, certain sections of the song, for example:

When he sings "Hear what I have to say" & "We could dream this night away." and from there every second line in the lyrics.

He sings it in the same vocal melody that Eddie sings certain sections of Long Road.

Call me a crack smoker or whatever you will, it is just how my ears pick these things.

I've listened to it a few times now, who cares if I'm 'late to the game'.
Forgive me for not hearing this song long before, should I have?

not at all. i just thought i was a little behind on stuff. hell, i didn't realize jeremy was a kick-ass song until '96, and i didn't really get into pj until a friend introduced me to no code sometime in december of '97. it was about the same time that same friend forced me to listen to neil. i've never heard the connection that you do, but i think both are awesome songs. (i was lucky enough to hear both live at toledo '04!)

The real question is, have you heard Eddie sing Harvest Moon?

Well both are in the key of D when performed live, so I can see where you would see a minutia of similarities, but I can't hear anything blatant.
