is anyone around here a fan of this rock opera (musical, show, whatever you wanna call it)? I've been digging up old videos of it on youtube for some time now, and it's pretty amazing at how well this show has held up for almost 40 years. I personally think it truly is the greatest story ever told, and the way Andrew Lloyd Webber's music and Tim Rice's lyrics compliment eachother is proof of one of the best collaborations in musical history. the 1973 film is also in my top 5. I've heard many rock veterans do their take on Jesus' song "Gethsemane" but I still think none of them can hold a candle to Ted Neeley's voice. I think he was blessed with one of the greatest rock voices. I've seen him in the role twice, one of the times being just last year. he's 65 and may be a little past his prime, but he can still hit those high notes for an elderly fella. anyone else love this show?

We just saw the show a few weeks ago in Philly
It's my 3rd time seeing the show with Ted Neeley
Funny thing is I was raised Catholic but don't practice it anymore...I go for the great music and show
The ONLY thing better than a glass of beer is tea with Miss McGill

Also had the honor of playing Judas in our school rendention back in the 6th grade(78).
6th grade huh? wow... never heard of an age group that young performing a rather mature play. but maybe it was a good idea to do it while all the boys could hit those high notes with ease before their voices cracked!
