Even those who aren't particularly sympathetic to Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu, could get a good measure of satisfaction from this interview with British Television last week, which can be attributed to Minister Netanyahu's days studying history at Harvard.

The interviewer asked him: "How come so many more Palestinians have been killed in this conflict than Israelis?" (A nasty question if there ever was one!)

Netanyahu: "Are you sure that you want to start asking in that direction?"

Interviewer: (Falling in to the trap) "Why not?"

Netanyahu: "Because in World War II more Germans were killed than British and Americans combined, but there is no doubt in anyone's mind that the war was caused by Germany's aggression. And in response to the German blitz on London, the British wiped out the entire city of Dresden, burning to death more German civilians than the number of people killed in Hiroshima. Moreover, I could remind you that in 1944, when the R.A.F. tried to bomb the Gestapo Headquarters in Copenhagen, some of the bombs missed their target and fell on a Danish children's hospital, killing 83 little children . Perhaps you have another question?"

he's comparing WWII to the Palestinian/Israeli conflict, which is inaccurate.

if you go by that logic, the Palestinians are completely justified in fire bombing Tel Aviv, since the Jewish population actually has Gaza fenced in , in a concentration camp. And history is not on the side of the allies when it comes to the fire bombing of Dresden. that was one of the biggest tragedies to come out of that war. 250,000 people burned alive. there is no justification for that. and here is Netanyahu, using that as justification for killing thousands of Gazans. it shows how the Israeli leadership-and most of the Israeli population, given the recent approval polls for the latest invasion of Gaza-show how most Jews are still lost in the holocaust.

He's living in the past. time for him/you to move on. there's a great book called, "The Holocaust is Over,We Must Rise from its Ashes." written by former speaker of Israeli parliament.

great interview of him here http://www.democracynow.org/2009/2/12/f ... parliament

'Perhaps you have another question?' he asks.

I have another question: Why are illegal Jewish-only settlements still being built?

Also, when will Israel begin abiding by international law and the will of the international community - excluding the U.S - and withdraw to the temporary 1967 border?

Here's another interesting quote from Benjamin Netanyahu:

"Israel should have exploited the repression of the demonstrations in China, when world attention focused on that country, to carry out mass expulsions among the Arabs of the territories."
-- Benyamin Netanyahu, then Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister, former Prime Minister of Israel, speaking to students at Bar Ilan University, from the Israeli journal Hotam, November 24, 1989.
