I *HATE* it...with a passion! Especially competitive "reality" shows, I think they bring out the absolute worst in people.

That being said, I got sucked into a really shitty one last night on Bravo and watched like 40 minutes of it. I feel dirty. Please don't tell anyone. This was sort of my confession and penance all rolled into one.

Doesn't all the backstabbing and conniving bother you?

I like it for the places they travel too. Sometimes they go to places that I was at yrs ago and its cool to see. The backstabbing sometimes comes early or late in the show. And it's the only show I would want to be on.

Jeez I loathe "reality" tv with my entire being.

But what riles me even more is I am thought of as really weird at work because I refuse to insult myself by watching such rubbish.
I hear so many colleagues have lenghty coversations about the fame hungry people on these shows. They talk about them like they know them personally.

  • I hate it too....yet I constantly find myself watching it.

What were you watching last night on Bravo? I watched the Real Housewives of Orange County. I'm embarrassingly wrapped up in that one.

I'm not a fan of reality TV..... but I happen to see anything with Gordon Ramsay on, I usually watch. They portray him as such an asshole. It's fun to watch him rip people. :)
  • I hate them, too...trust me! They are the best example of what can happen when you care about the wrong things in life! Yet, I am strangely fascinated by watching it....

The weird thing is, I am somehow *slightly* more sympathetic towards the Orange County ones than I am towards the NYC ones. Those gals repulse me to the point that I can't watch them. So maybe it's not that I'm necessarily sympathetic to the OC ones...I just hate them a little less.

The lady on that matchmaker show has absolutely no charisma...I have no idea how she ever got on TV. (Not that I watch it, lol...just see a lot of promos for it during my housewives show. )

Those housewives...don't get me started. They're everything that's wrong with our country. And...they probably don't even recycle.

I hate reality TV, but I have watched Top Chef before, some of the stuff they make is interesting. I can't stand American Idol, Bachelor, Survior and all the crap.

Survivor is awesome. It's interesting to see how people absolutely fall apart when deprived of the things we take for granted every day. I'm not sure you can say it's all bad. In my opinion, there is much worse crap on TV these days...

This is the honest to God truth - I've never seen one episode of Reality TV. I have absolutely no interest in it whatsoever.
Don't come closer or I'll have to go
