I put 5 dollars in the juke box and played "Alive" 10 times in a row. By the 4th time, people were pissed. "Again!, who the fuck played this song!"

I ate in silence and just giggled inside...

I did it because they only had "Ten" in the juke box... I never see "Yield" or "No Code" in any bars that I go to. Just "Ten" or "Vs".

I had a good laugh.

    You ROCK!!! :D

hehe!! I did the same thing with the jukebox at the backpackers in Broome back in 1998. I thought they'd smash it in the end!

I flew up there the night after Melbourne 3 and for a whole week I tormented everyone around me by playing PJ on the jukebox at least 10 times a day! :D
    NOPE!!!

Honestly, i dont care what song it was, even if it was my favorite song, 10 times in a row would be annoying. That was childish, stupid, and annoying. Good way to make everyone in the place hate Pearl Jam. Well done.

I've tried similar antics but the bartender has always been able to put an end to it.

Im just sayin the only person its funny to is him.....how would you like it if some super Creed fan came in to the bar and played "with arms wide open" 10 times? Id probably punch him in the face. Im just saying it wasnt clever, funny, or ironic. Just annoying.

Annoying to you, but it was me making a point. Only having "Ten" in the bar was annoying to me...

  • C'mon people lighten up. Yes, it childish, but it didnt hurt anyone. It's also funny.

My favorite was when I was leaving a late might diner I played stairway to heaven 3 times in a row. I wonder at what point into the 3rd go round was it unplugged as all the drunk breakfast eaters revolted.

its against Bar rules. I'm sure it made quite a few PJ haters. nice job.

Yeah, I always play EVERY pearl jam song on a jukebox... not on repeat, but there was a bar that had all of Lost Dogs on it in Wisconsin... it was our favorite bar, we went there all the time... funny thing was, I'd always play all of lost dogs, and my friends would play a bunch of it also, not knowing I played it all...
I guess that isn't that funny, now that I am sober and typing about it

Man, you're raping the meaning of the music. Don't throw the music down peoples throats, man. Let people listen to what they want to listen and don't bombard them with the same thing over and over. That's what the coperations do, man. It's punks like you who are fucking up music. Fuck Bush.

My local bar has rearviewmirror, so what do I do.......play every song on both discs. By about 3/4 in the bartender got pissed and was about to shut it off, so some kid yelled at him and he left it on. It was awesome!!
Out of the Blue and Into the Black................Uncle Neil Philly 08 here I come!!!!
  • wow, there are a lot of dicks on this site, heheh. just kidding, but I would be pretty pissed if someone played an entire 2 disk album. I guess if you wanted to hear some of your own music, too bad, cuz the douchebag ahead of you just played the entire collected works of AC/DC cuz he likes to RAWK! I can imagine the groans going thru the crowd. But if the bar is empty, fuck it, play what you want.

no wonder my friend likes pearl jam but hates pearl jam fans.
  • At my local bar they have one of those OnDemand juke boxes which is great but also has it's downfalls (You really hear some garbage)... Anyway I usually play some songs and at the end I play a 37 minute version of Dark Star by the Dead. As soon as it comes on I finish my beer and leave everybody with 30+ minutes of slow, boring Grateful Dead...

    Your thread made me smile.
Yeah it would probably be annoying but what great harm done?Other diners probably wouldnt blame Pearl Jam but just be bemused.
The bar I go to has a great juke box.Lots of Pearl Jam,live as well as studio albums.
I once travelled to London by coach to see Pearl Jam.The driver had this weird rule that he wouldnt allow any of the bands playing at the festival to be played on the coach. So no Pearl Jam or Neil Young!!!!The radio broke as we were leaving Glasgow and we spent the rest of the 10 hour + journey with only Nevermind on tape.Everytime "Something in the Way" ended we sighed with relief only for the tape to start again.By the time we arrived in London I was losing the will to live. But I managed to crawl to the stage and have life restored when Pearl Jam walked onto stage.
    Have a wonderful,safe,love filled New Year everyone.xxx

I love these new electronic jukeboxes where you can download the tunes. I played Yield from front to back a few weeks ago during Happy Hour. Nobody seemed too annoyed by it.

When I was in Chicago for Lolla, we went out to the bars the night before PJ and a few of the bars had PJ playing all night. Good stuff.

  • This local bar/restaurant where we hung out as High School kids after football games and such, had 'Happy Birthday' on their juke box. Needless to say for a solid 3 month span, it played every Friday night at least 15x. It was more funny then, and I guess you had to be there, and yea, we were in high school :P
