    Both songs rock. But to answer your question, I guess Rival sucks more only cause Help Help rocks harder.

    I really enjoy help help... Rival, not so much. Dunno why, just my opinion

    Im not looking to bash anyones favorite song, I just wanted to know if anyone thought like me about those two songs. For me, I love all Pearl Jam songs, with the exception of those 2 songs. I just think that some of the "if pearl jam shit in a tin can id listen to it" fans are going a tad over board. If Pearl Jam were a new band today, and this was on their first CD, they would flop.

    Period.

    But, I digress...

    not a fan of help help... although when they played it during msg2 2003, i was so f'ed up, i was so zoned into it, and it rocked.

    other than that experience... it sucks.

    no your not and it's a good topic but for me at least seeing a song played live usually is the measuring stick it's all dabateable & thanks for not starting another ran into a member thread ...

    This is a pretty easy one since Help Help is bad and Rival isn't. I really quite like Rival but I can see where some wouldn't. I really can't find many redeeming qualities in Help Help though, although I do really like Riot Act as a whole.

    Both of these are great songs and it's a shame they don't play them live anymore.

    i might be wrong but i don't think they played that song that night ...yeah i just checked they didn't play it you must of been f'd up he he he he :)

    Help, help definitely sucks more. In fact, I'm not sure I would say that Rival sucks, it is actually a pretty good song.

    Rival is AWESOME...one of my favs...such a cool, unusually paced riff for PJ...love how it has this slow grind/burn feel to it.

    I think the Pinkpop 2000 version totally kicked.

    Hmmm..."Help Help"....haven't listened to it in ages...that says something.
