Chimp attacks

I feel real sorry for the lady that was attcked, but why are people allowed a Chimp as an animal. That makes no sense to me. If these animals were kept in the wild or the zoo maybe things like this would not happen.

I don't think they should be allowed to be kept at 'pets'. They're a wild and (potentially) dangerous creature. Too many people think they're cute and just exist for our entertainment. Most people wouldn't own a tiger as a pet so why is a chimp anymore acceptable? I personally don't think it is.

I heard from a zookeeper that you can't keep a chimp domesticated once its an adult because will battle to become the alpha man. Apparently all the TV chimps are given over to zoo's and such once they reach a certain age because they turn violent and want to be the king of the castle.
This is the first I read of the details of her injuries - do you have a link to an article confirming this?
