I've seen Jane's Addiction about 12 times over the years, but never have I seen them so freakin' tight and powerful as I did last night. It was truly incredible. Wrote a full review here:

DO NOT miss their show with NIN later this year!

That is awesome. Great setlist. Who cares if it was short! The last time I saw the original line-up perform was during the Ritual tour. I was blown away. Can't wait for the tour w/ NIN.
  • Yeah I caught em on Halloween in '98 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NY. Epic, amazing show.. same goes for the several ampitheather shows I saw a few years back... but something was different this time. Could've been Trent, maybe it was Eric's long-awaited return... maybe both, who knows? Either way it was amazing.

I actually got Janes Addiction - Up from the catacombs (the best of) from cdwow.ie today in the post.

It cost about 7 yo yos.

Ritual de lo habitual is also a class album.

I would say Nothing Shocking and Ritual.

Both great albums top to bottom.

  • Haha hate to bring drugs into this, but after all, we ARE talking about Jane's Addiction..

I remember buying Kettle Whistle the day it came out, driving by myself through the mountains in the rain, not a person in sight for miles and miles, listening to it over and over while making my way through about four joints. One of the best memories of my life (although I'm surprised I remember it at all..ha) just due to the sheer power the music had in the moment. I went home and played guitar till about 3am - the best compliment I can give any album or musician, really. Inspiration is the greatest gift an artist can offer.
