meh...could've been sooo much more than it was. rather mediocre. such a shame too.....clive owen, naomi watts and especially armin mueller-stahl. all gave their performances all they could, but it most definitely was the script and/or director that simply was not up to par. wasn't bad...but it wasn't good either, and given the subject, would've been cool to see a far superior flick made.

*adds to list of must see films* ;) j/k

I like Clive Owen but Naomi Watts is usually a big turn off for me  can't say i've ever enjoyed one of her films.

Had I not found this love with you
  • for a thriller, it was rather boring. so unless you actully like dull thrillers, i don;t think even you would enjoy it much. ;) that said, the various locations were cool...and the scene that took place in the guggenheim museum in NYC was WOW. it was a great story idea, just not written well enough for the idea.

Lol, I'm willing to bet I'll find the storyline great and the locations boring  . I love a good thriller... they just don't seem to make them great these days.

well give it a go! tis only mine - and yes, hubby's - opinion i am sharing here. actually, hubby thought it far worse than i did, but i think i can appreciate facets of a film more than him, even if overall, i don't think it was great. and we both ADORE thrillers, and you bet....not that many about that are truly great.

as to locations, only a few are wow.....but the cinematography of it all is quite good. as i said, to me/us...it was so clear how much *more* this film could've been, if just a wee bit more went into the story, or the direction, i am not quite sure where it went off into 'meh'...just know it certainly wasn't the fault of the actors, they did the best/most they could with what they were given. still will probably rent in when it comes out on DVD...almost always give a flick a second, redeeming chance. ;) as i said, it wasn't a bad flick....but it was far from great. meh.

    yes!

we went to a matinee, but on sunday....and not the first showing, so we paid full price. we wanted to see a flick in atheatre and i at least was realitively entertained....hubby feel asleep. :P granted, he can fall asleep even thru flicks he enjoys, haha....but overall......tis NOT a good sign if you want any 'excitement' with your thriller. the IDEA is a great one....the execution, not so much. i deem it a DVD rental, but of course...tht's after we already saw it, haha. i didn't go in with great expectations in any case, the critics pretty much described it accurately. eh well.

This is one of those movies that just oozes mediocrity.
