It's that time of year again - when the summer tour dates start rolling out and rumours start to fly everywhere.

Who is rumoured to be touring this summer? I've heard of a lot, but I thought it would be nice to have one thread where we can discuss rumours so I can prepare to see how money I need to save.

With bands like Phish, Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood, Kings of Leon, Billy Joel & Elton John, and Dave Matthews Band already hitting the road, I thought it would be nice to see who else will be out there this summer.

The tour I'm most hoping to come around is Neil Young (confirmed for Jazz Fest, speculated at Rothbury & Glastonbury). What are the rumours for Paul McCartney (already confirmed for Coachella...)

I saw 3rd Eye Blind way back in the day- and they were horrible live! They played their one hit early on in the set and then about half of the crowd left  The lead singer got pissed and sung the rest of the set sitting down on the stage- no emotion at all. Hopefully they have changed

Wilco are also playing the jazzfest, Bonnaroo, Michigan and will announce a while bunch of shows in the US. I can't wait :)
  • when is that 3EB album due out? it's been 6 years since the last one!! i haven't heard good things about the new songs, but i will always buy their albums. they have such a big place in my heart. and i do not think they are horrible live at all. i've seen them 2 or3 times and the shows were all a lot of fun. i just miss kevin cadogan. i don't like the other guitarist all that well. the songwriting and guitar playing definitely slipped a couple notches when they got rid of kevin.

    to LukinFan:
when was it that you saw them and they only had one hit? damn, that first album had at least 5 songs that got shitloads of radio play: losing a whole year, semi-charmed life, jumper, graduate, how's it gonna be. the second album had a few: anything, never let you go, and deep inside of you. was the concert when semi-charmed life first hit the radio?

I was watching the 3EB 10th anniversary show on HDNET the other day and thought the show was amazing! If you saw them in concert right after Semi Charmed Life was released, then I can understand why the show wasn't that great. But that whole self titled album turned out to be one of my fav non-PJ albums of the 90s. They must have eventually released 4 or 5 songs to radio, which were all great songs. And a couple of the best songs on the album weren't even released (God of Wine & Motorcycle Drive By).

Their second album wasn't nearly as good but still had a few great songs on it (the un-censored version of Slow motion is amazing!).

I am really looking forward to seeing them live. Hopefully the new albums (there are two coming out this year) are at least decent.
