Just a shout out to all those who were present at this amazing show. It was such a gorgeous night, the band was on fire...I distinctly remember the band huddling on stage to decide what to play next. I can't believe it was over 12 years ago:

A night to remember for sure.
It poured rain the night before so the band really turned it on this evening!
It seemed like they played for abourt four hours
What a nightmare leaving the venue
...I was always a DeadHead, but when I first heard Winston Rodney, aka the Burning Spear, sing, I became a SpearHead too!
All that I once held as true
I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.
It was my first show too. Yeah, leaving was a nightmare. My parents let me stay home from school the next day!
Does anyone have the bootleg of these 2 shows?
PM me if you have them.
Thanks
Damn nowadays I'm lucky I can find one person to take my extra - everyone else got so old and 'grown up'.
I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now.
Getting my tickets from a trailer next to Yankee stadium, parking at Yankee stadium and taking an MTA bus over to Randall's Island. After the show it turns out those of us who took the shuttle bus to Yankee stadium got the better deal as the NYPD allowed our bus to cut around the huge traffic jams trying to get out.
During Rats Eddie waving to all the fans who made their way to the Tri-Borough bridge toll plaza above the stadium, Eddie kept looking at the Moon and the fans on the Tri-Borough over pass.
My body was begging for the show to end as it was exausted but my mind and soul was screaming "don't stop".
The amount of people who traveled by limos to the show.
The amount of parents who took their kids to see the show, the Parents were in the stands and the kids were down on the field.
The huge amount of NYPD who kept sending under cover guys over to us to try to bust us with pot.
I had just turned 21 so this was the first time I was able to get a beer at a show.
This was my first Pearl Jam show, being a fan I had high expectations. For at least this moment in my life I can honestly say that my high expectations (of anything) were not just exceeded but blown away. It was one of those events in my life I will always remember.
I hate to end my comments on a down note but the only complaint I had of the show was that the sound equipment was not as good as the '98 and '03 tours, I've seen Pearl Jam in '96, '97, '98, '00, '03, '06 and '08. By far '98 and '03 had the best sounds, I admittedly know nothing about sound equipment and all that, I will just say that I distinctly remember how good they sounded in '98 and '03.
That said 9/29/96 was about the whole experience, the music was just the sound track to something wonderful I know many of us experienced.
It was also the longest show in their career at that time.

A friend, he called, I didn't mention a thing. The last thing he said was, "Be sound". Sound. I contemplated an awful thing, I hate to admit. I just thought those would be such appropriate last words. But I'm still here.

Got my parents drive us up from Philly and drop us off, then they drove back and picked us up. They parked on the ramp to the bridge, so we didn't get stuck in the traffic.
But man I wish they would release that alt. version of Jeremy . Maybe in the re-release of Ten???
Doubt it, but I would love a studio cut of that.
Was def spoiled having that show as my 1st show. Kinda hard to match that show.
My pants were pulled down to my ankles on night one
