Remember that huge rumor that they were to play Woodstock '94? With Nirvana, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots etc.. Ah, the day's of reading Hit Paradar back in High School. :geek:
  • Look at the dangerous, violent nightmare clusterfuck stain on the original that Woodstock '94 was. Given what happened at Roskilde, I'd be happy to start taking bets now if you think there's a snowball's chance in hell that they'd ever be associated with it.

The rumor is that they are trying to bring back as many of the original 69 acts along with some of the more current bands. I think that if they had an opportunity to play with the Who, they would be down. I would love to see the Who play Tommy in it's entirety again.

Umm didn't the last woodstock revival end with a giant mess and fires being set everywhere and some miniriots due to lack of free water and what not?

I'm really surprised they're going to try again.. I thought the last one ended rather messy.

The last day, someone poo'd in our tent while we were off watching the Chili Peppers. I kid you not.

'94 Woodstock showed that 25yrs laters they still didn't know shit about putting together a concert of this magnitute. Lots of good music on the bill but poor planning by promoters.
The biggest fucking nigthmare was that you couldn't spend real cash there, but had to trade in your money for Woodstock coin. Nor were you supposed to bring in any food of your own.
Yeah well, by Friday night all the little kiosks selling anything resembeling food were over run and tore down, b/c they just couldn't provide for the masses of people that showed up. So people were pissed they got beat on the exchange - since there was nothing to buy w/your funny money.
I think I was one of the only idiots who actually bought a ticket for this show, everyone else just crashed.
I remember during RHCP, (which was something to behold b/c they dressed up as Jimi Hendrix's, then wore giant lightbulbs on their heads) they threw out boxes of candels to light during the finale. We were up front and got totally pelted with cases of candels. I put a box on my head to use as a helmet so I didn't get so lumped up.

A far superior booking with a far superior promoter. Maybe Clear Channel should hire Wayne to turn around their business. "We don't need to lay anyone off now. We have Wayne Campbell."

Haha yeah it was incredibly disgusting. I can kind of laugh about it now but at the time it was absolutely horrible.
