Ok so an LP is coming out probably sometime in September. Notice, LP has been said not album...

Here's my tour thoughts:

Anyway, I think they will do 25 shows in the states. I see them starting out on the West Coast...playing Montana, California, Vegas, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver...maybe even Calgary or Edmonton. I'm figuring this will happen at the end of September into middle October. Then in November leading up 7-10 days before Christmas they hit the EAST! (yeah! :D)....Chicago, maybe Cinci?, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Toronto, Boston, NYC (MSG!), and Philly. Maybe DC, but I can see them ending it in Philly or NY.

I don't know too much about the west coast venues, but I'm assuming in the East since it will be cold we're figuring MSG, Boston Garden, Wachovia, Mellon, Air Canada, etc etc....

...OR.....SMALL VENUE TOUR?????
That would be kick ass

So after all this crap, they will launch a big 2010 tour. It will be their 20th anny. They start it in Europe (if this is around anytime that I have off, I will be actually doing any show they do in Italy) for 20 or so shows. During the March month. After that, take time off until May. They play the US again, 2 legs...similar to 2003.

Fall/Winter comes, and they play SOUTH AMERICA :D

Then we don't hear from them for a while

I really analyzed the hell out of this, and it makes sense to me..

I like everything you say here.. except the small venue tour. Getting tickets for small venues would be a total nightmare! :o

Seein PJ in a small-ish venue is amazing.

Don't they usually play around 70 shows a tour.

Small venue shows are few and far between. Personally, I hope they do some smaller venue 10C only shows. But they have to pick bigger venues than the Vic or too many of us will get shut out. If we are lucky, we'll get one show like this ion the next tour.

I like most of the cities you listed though :)
1996: Toronto 1998: Barrie 2000: Saratoga Springs 2003: Buffalo, Toronto 2005: Kitchener, London, Hamilton, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto 2006: Toronto x2, Cleveland, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Gorge #1 2007: London, Dusseldorf, Vic, Lolla 2008: WPB, Tampa, DC, MSG x2, Hartford, Boston x2, Beacon 2009: Toronto, Chicago x2, Seattle x2, LA #3&4, San Diego, Philly x4 2010: Cleveland, Buffalo, Hartford 2011: Montreal, Toronto x2, Hamilton 2012: Missoula 2013: London, Wrigley, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Hartford, Dallas, OKC

If they did a short fanclub tour, some smallish venues would work, if they could work out a dozen or so regional shows and only allow 1 show per member.
  • I don't know if I can bear the thought of waiting until September for a show!

I REALLY don't want a Canada tour this summer, I'll be in Europe all summer.

i think u are dead on with the tour starting in july, i think it will be at rothbury, eddie had a great time at bonnaroo last year, and rothbury is the kind of thing i think they are looking to do in the US, or at least this is all my dreaming mind can deduce,

Cannot wait to hear news of a tour/album...I'm starving for some kind of new news...I've been checking the site daily hoping that something is up.

Besides that though, a full out tour hitting Europe, South Pacific, E&W Coasts of the US and Canada would be awesome...

I have a goal to catch more than just one show on this tour....and there are a lot of possibilities for me living where I do: Vegas, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, a handful of California shows, and even Montana if they book a show there....but for God's sake, play Salt Lake City!!!!!

I'm about to start a damn petition LOL ;)
    7/2/06 - Denver, CO
    6/12/08 - Tampa, FL
    8/23/09 - Chicago, IL
9/28/09 - Salt Lake City, UT (11 years too long!!!)
    9/03/11 - East Troy, WI - PJ20 - Night 1
    9/04/11 - East Troy, WI - PJ20 - Night 2
  • I hope they come to Atlanta. I hope sooo bad.
  • Still waiting for news of any kind. Hoping they hit several places in the south.

I've heard a rumor about PJ coming to France in August for a festival called Rock en Seine (it's in Paris area).
This rumor is coming from a radio host here. I hope its true but maybe it's just that the festival organizers are trying to get PJ coming. I'll let you know if I get more information.

I think the band will do a few "special" shows to celebrate TEN. Seattle (fan club only???) Philly (closing the Spectrum), NY (MSG) etc.

I think they will hold off on a major tour until after the new cd is out and to be promoted
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
slide in sideways, BBQ sandwich in one hand, cold beer in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Woo Hoo what a
    ride"!

Being that the next tour will likely be both in support of both the new record and the band's 20th anniversary and the accompanying reissues, I can see them doing one last huge world-wide tour and then perhaps nothing more for the next five years.

New album released > Europe > Australia/Japan > South America > US (shitloads of dates all over, including the south, culminating in a 20th anniversary show in Seattle).

    Maybe.

I'm quoting myself to let you know that PJ is not coming to France in August for Rock en Seine festival.
There were apparently discussions between festival organizers and PJ but that's it.

i can´t understand why they have to wait so long announcing tour dates .... Metallica came out with tour dates almost a year in advance... i can´t plan my summer because if i go to US west coast ( almost planned ) and they start touring Europe or the East coast i´ll die :P
And all the talk about small venues ... i don´t care i just want great shows ...
So come on PJ we want dates NOW!!!
Burn my eyes and try to blind me
Bury me so they won't find me
Try to suck my power empty
Got no crown of thorns on me
  • Hope they will have a mini tour in Europe this summer to celebrate Ten. Play the whole album from start to end like Metallica did with Master Of Puppets and Sonic Youth did with Daydream Nation. Then they will release the New album with a World Tour.

  • ok people, been following the band since "93" BFd, right)and been to around 25 shows mostly where i live (boston), Smallest venue i have seen them in was the augusta civic center in Maine in 1996. 7000 people. you'll not see that again unless special circumstances exist. band is now a phenom. i cant see them not hitting boston on this tour. the gap of about 3 weeks between cali and penn. will probably be where they visit. the way pj does the tours now is this, plain and simple. they tour where it is nice weather, period. its like frigginn endless summer. they have the power and popularity to do this. check the tour schedule for the last few years, see what i mean. boston weather is still very nice in october, they will be here. don't forget, they chose boston for the project show and one of very few vote for change dates, ( i was at both). also payed the paradise when they were first getting off the ground way back in 91 or 2 i think. i wish i had seen that!, ok now for some personal indulgance...best shows i have attended. My first pj show at the boston garden 4-10-94 just after cobain took his life. just an awesome show. 9-26-96, Augusta Me. GENERAL ADDMISSION, what a night, that nut Dennis Rodman carrying Ed around on his shoulders during the encore. 10-2-96. Hartford conn. THE RIOT SHOW, CYPRESS HILL had played the night before and caused all kinds of trouble. pj fans paid the price as late arrivals missed half the show because they were practally doing cavity searches on people. Luckily i got there early and was in on time 3rd row center, thanks fan club. 9-23-98 west palm beach fla. hot night, just the right amount of booze and...10-31-2000, haloween night mountainview cali., on vaca visiting friends, They come out in full costume for the encore, try to find some pics, you'll love it. august 2003, all 3 jones beach shows. beach all day, pj all night, need i say more. 7-3-03 the project show, never had i experoienced anything loike that and probably never will again. "everybody sit down and relax, its going to be a long night" EV. 7-8-03, 7-9-03 MSG. two of the finest rock-pj concerts of all time. like 8000 10c members per show. since then the band has lost a little luster for me. i liked when they were a little crazier and just went nuts more, but then again we are all a little older and wiser, right? for those new fans, you cant know what i mean but us old ones have seen some stuff. they are still the best band in the world rihgt now and i still love them hugely, cant wait for new album and shows. also, they have done alot for the causes they support and for people in general. thanks for 20 great years pj, thanks for playing, and thanks to the jamily and the 10c for all the great seats i'm # 113XXX since 1994. please respond with opinions and your favorite experiences. see you on the road!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
