"Pretty Sloppy" is a very generous assessment of the Marseille 06 version. It was just plain awful.

It is not a very difficult song to play, so if they actually start to work it in to set lists more regularly, they can probably play it as well as Benaroya again. But I don't see that happening.

Every song on Benaroya Hall is amazing.
It has a nice warm rich sound to it when you play it loud in your garage whilst washing your car 8-)

hehe, yeah its a dreadful version. yeah the band could play it alright, but i think that in regular shows when they play songs like Thin Air, All Or None etc Ed doesnt do the vocals as gently or as accurately as he does on Benaroya or his solo shows (for songs like Sometimes etc).

but still, id LOVE to hear them bust Fatal out at a show im at!!

  • i am so bad at recalling setlists, but i don't think i've ever gotten to hear this one live! i've always wanted to, LOVE it...and i think the beneroya version is spectacularly beautiful! even man of the hour, with it's loud reverb in there somewhere...since it was the FIRST time they ever played it live....beautiful! that was just an extra special show all the way round....hail, hail the lucky ones...present for live beneroya! 8-)
    Stay with me...
    Let's just breathe...

I am myself like you somehow

  • I have to agree. It seemed like the whole mood for the show, coupled with the acoustic set, made this performance just brilliant. I actually like this live version more than the Lost Dogs studio version.

I did listen to the marseilles version. Eddie was off with the lyrics, and it didn't seem as precise as the Benaroya Hall version. Oh well, it happens

Well, Fatal was only played 3 times. The last time was Marseille ... and I was there. This version is far from perfect but I freaked out when I heard the first notes.
The Benaroya Hall version is awesome and I agree there is something special with the warm sound.
