Well I'm happy to say as of today I am officially debt free :D so that means its time to start saving for the next PJ tour. I've made a goal to save $2000 for travel and what not. I'd love to attend 5 shows but we'll see. Has anyone else started to save for the next tour? How much have you saved? And what's your goal?

  • 5% of every paycheck goes into the pot until a tour is announced, then I may ratchet it up to 10%. I'm gonna hit up as many as the total allows me, but in all reality I'm hoping for 4

I've already got over $2k stashed away for Pearl Jam related travels. I am fully expecting to have to travel across the continent for shows this year, so I started saving early. And with another 6 months or so to save, I should be in good shape for a bunch of shows, wherever they may be playing.

I usually try to hit the entire tour unless it is a world tour and then I have to take a couple breaks in order to statisfy 'the man'. The key for me is trying to do everything as cheap as possible. In Europe I lived on cheese sandwhichs. My sister works for Hyatt which helps out a lot. I have a feeling this next tour is going to be huge. Hope to meet some of you out there.

I just tucked a fifty dollar bill into my sock drawer. I will try to keep adding at least that much from every paycheck until it is tour time!!!

I pilfer for PJ also... $50 per pay check - which comes out to about $2500 a year as a tour fund. I'll do as many shows, and travel as far as that will get me.
  • I have about $3,000 stowed away for Pearl Jam. I'm hoping to hit up 4-5 shows, but now I can't take any days off from work until tour time... this will ensure that I have all the time I need to travel to shows. :D
  • My goal has always been to top the amount I saw on the previous tour. Unfortunately, that will be pretty tough if a tour is announced anytime soon. So broke.

I've got several grand devoted to PJ, and money has never been my problem. Time off has been what's kept me from going to more shows. But this year, because of how long I've been with the company, I get another week of vacation time 8-). So that's five more days, plus another weekend to work with.

Nice. Most of us have one problem or the other when it comes to seeing show. I guess the perfect scenario would be an independently rich teacher and a summer tour :) LOL

For me it will all depend on where the shows are. If it is a full tour (even like 2006), I should make it to 10+ shows. If there is nothing in the North East or Mid West, likely only 5 or 6.
