Trying to get a teacher back into PJ

so i was talking PJ with a substitute teacher, he claims ed is too preachy and he jut lost his interest in the band
He loves the more grungier stuff from Ten and Vs. and he loves the songs that just make your hair stand on end...we were listening to RVM in class and he was like, "this is a prime example of a later PJ song i like."
So i listened to what he had to say and i accepted his criticism, yet still fought in the band's favor.
He said it was hard to really give his attention to music in a classroom setting and that he really listens to them better in the car.
as a result he assigned me a project (not real obviously) to successfully restore his faith in the band and show that the band is still relevant to a listener like him today. To do so, i will make a PJ mix for him to listen to in the car.
That's where i come to you. I have ideas, but i don't want fuck it up and make him hate the band even more and i though much more seasoned PJ fans, like yourselves, could really help. anyone got the perfect track listing for a mix given the criteria above?

if you make him a mix of these 5, and he doesn't see the light... might be a lost cause, sorry to say....
might i suggest the latest coldplay album for him in this case... tell him the grammys loved it!!! : )
Sammi: Wanna just break up?
Nothin like a little overkill to turn someone onto the band... at least it'd give him a feel for the absurd amount of homework he's assigning... of course, it'll probably also provoke the same response.
That's a kinda mellow mix if he liked the grungy stuff... and the guy already loves ten and vs so no need to put those songs on there.
It's a good mix though
Above all, whatever you give him must have:
Last Exit
Sad
Red Mosquito
Sammi: Wanna just break up?
Just saying that 7 discs might be a bit much for someone who's not sure he likes the band's material. I tried to make it lighthearted, wasn't trying to tear you up over it. By all means, suggest away!
Sammi: Wanna just break up?
Anyways lets see a song I would suggest would be Life Wasted, I dont drive but I imagine it'd be a good driving song, oh and Parachutes, and Come Back. Are you wanting to put recentish songs on the CD?

I'm thinking it should be newer-ish stuff, so I'm thinking Yield onwards.
1. Brain of J - Always loved this as an opener, so it's going here
2. You Are - Are great, more different track from Riot Act
3. Life Wasted - Recent track with a lot of energy.
4. Unemployable - possibly my favourite track from the Avacado album, lyrically especially it's brilliant.
5. Sad - So I'm probably breaking the post-Yield rule I made, but whatever... Lost Dogs, 2003
6. Wishlist - So, not a grungey rocker or anything, but there's a need to branch out and this is beautiful.
7. Do The Evolution - This song is too good. To me an incredible 'modern' ish PJ song. If he doesn't like it... :( haha.
8. Insignificance - I'm thinking a bolder song from Binaural, especially if he's going to be listening to it driving home
9. I am Mine - Another sweet track
10. Marker in the Sound - I feel I'm drifting away from the heavier rockers a 'grunge era' guy might prefer, so this.
11. Army Reserve - Another track from Avacado that seems such a great example of Pearl Jam maturing, not just rehashing.
So, they're not actually in much of a good order, but the tracks themselves I'm happy with. What I'd then do, is put in some really amazing live versions of some older PJ stuff. So, I'm thinking Daughter/It's OK from The Gorge box, for example. There are plenty of sweet versions of Alive, and well, anything else you want.
This is a good list. I'd add Given to Fly, Rise, Severed Hand, and Last Kiss.
