So i'm so excited! Always wanted to see this band for some reason and always waited for the right opertunity and here it is! not even a mile from my front porch. I'm so excited! Just in time for my b day to...



Have any of you seen them live? How was your experience?

(I almost scared to talk about weed on this board now but) I'm totally smokin a j on the walk to the venue :mrgreen:

    Have fun! :) I may have seen them back in the day. But I don't remember. Probably the weeed you're scared to talk about :mrgreen:

    Friday, 2/13/09well just in case anyone out there was wondering, junkies are good shit live! They don't look or sound any different than a decade ago..Margo is s till purity as a peach.


    my friend and i went down to the front and stood cuz it was elevated and for half the show i was literally like inches away from the equipment, just a feet or two away from the band against the stage.
    My seats were good but i just had to get into it more because it was an olderish crowd and no one was standing up and so somebody had to put some energy out there! The crowd really dug them though. No standing but lots of of applause and cheers, hoots, hollers :D also Alot of Margo chatting with the crowd.

    *After fans started dancing in the isle and in the front areas* "I wish i could tell you that we had alot more dance numbers but we are Cowboy Junkies" *Cheers from crowd*

    very cool.. was like having them in my living room. Always waited for the right opp to see them live and glad i held out. A Lot of people randomly burst into solo dances and it was very groovy. They played alot of stuff i hadn't heard but REALLY really dug. No "sweet Jane" or "One Soul Now" or "Hunting Ground" but i will live. They played alot from Acoustic junk, which i had never heard of any of and now i think im gonna pick it up now after hearing :D I was really shocked Anniversary song or River Waltz didn't come out with V day being tomorrow and all :mrgreen:


    anywho very soulful kind of band, i recommend a rum/coke/sprite plus a bong hit or two along with your cowboy junkies for full potency .

    they are playing here at WVU in a few weeks and i keep considering buying tickets. the only thing i've heard from them is the trinity, revisited album and i really did like it. will it still be a good show if i'm not very familiar with their songs? i don't want to go and not have a good time because i don't know the lyrics or anything.

    It will be a great show either way.. i was not too sure what to expect but its one of those dance around , maybe dance with your partner and feel good kind of concerts. Upbeat but not lame sounding songs mixed with acoustic gems :) They played a bunch of new songs that have never been heard before so i think you would be in for a treat. I actually like alot of stuff other than the trinity sessions and although it felt short, i had an amazing time. Don't go alone though!
