Ipod Touch - cheap boom boxes?

I have an ipod touch, and my GF has an ipod boom box, but for some reason many accessories designed for ipods don't work with ipod touch. I'm assuming apple made a change so everyone has to spend even more money... but i digress.

Anyone know of a decent sounding small boom box that actually works with ipod touch? Just for a backround music, mostly played on low or medium?

This one looks decent, but wanted to ask if anyone's got one that they like now.

if youre looking for just background music, why not just plug your computer speakers into the headphone jack? i sometimes plug my zune into my bose wave radio using your standard audio jack. works great.

its for an area where I have no computer. lot's of dust. a messy shop area basically.

looking for a convenient, cheap replacement for my 20 year old cd boom box which no longer plays cds.

i meant that all you need is computer speakers. check out something like this

or ask around. someone is bound to have an extra pair of speakers from their desktop that they never use anymore.

Oh... good point. I guess I also want it to charge it as it plays. But that was a really good idea though.

i have an iHome & it works great. it was pretty cheap, too. i bought it for about $30.

i bought it at Marshall's. they sell "last years" models for really cheap. i've also seen them @ TJ Maxx for right around the same price. i don't have the iPod touch, but it works w/ my iPhone (uses the iPod feature), so i imagine that it would work w/ a touch. here's their site---you could email them & ask them what models work w/ your iPod.

Goodie! I'll have to look at my local TJ Maxx. I thought it was a women's clothing store. Maybe Steinmart, Ollie's or BigLots also have that... I should visit those stores more often.

yeah--big lots might have it. if you email them (iHome), they should tell you which models would work. good luck!
