Anyone who thinks that the upcoming Ten reissue is worth obtaining is a fool. I remember reading a interview w/ Eddie in Rolling Stone(1 1/2-2 years ago) stating that the band doesn't need day jobs...yet. Re-releasing Ten is all about $$. It's a fact, times are tough for most people including successful bands who want to keep up w/ their revenue. Just like if you were a successful business person, you'd be out there doing whatever to keep your share up. Who gives a shit about photos we've already seen in place/date or a "replica" of their first demo tape? You can watch Unplugged on youtube ever since I believe youtube has been online. Yeah, the Drop in the Park vinyl is rare, but it'll be on disc or digital soon. I wouldn't call it a collector's set, just another reissue like the downward spiral, dirty, goo, weezer...You can't fall for the "oh well that album sold so many copies we ran out & now we have to get more out there for the kids who might want it"...kids aren't stupid obviously hence the digital revolution. And where is the x-mas single?..

Thank you. I almost forgot what it was like to be called names by someone who doesn't know me.

You're going to offend a lot of people on this board for blatantly stating that anyone who wants this set is a fool. Frankly, I don't care how much the band profits from me, so long as . This looks like a beautiful quality, well thought-out set, and I'm excited to own it.

calling people fools is a little much. what do you care if they re-release this and people want it? im personally not going to buy it but i think its cool that they are revisiting what got them to where they are today and celebrating it. at least it gives everyone something to listen to until the new album comes out.

  • Try looking in the mirror next time you feel like calling someone a fool! So what if they want to make money? Just because you can't, don't take it out on others. I swear, people like this suck for trying to bring other people down. You watch unplugged on youtube and I'll watch it in 5.1 surround sound on my 62" TV. As far as drop the park goes, listening to PJ on vinyl with a good system beats digital sound any time! Not to mention the other demo style stuff with it. Go be crappy somewhere else, like your own peer group. maybe they like you being a jerk. Don't post trash talk here, please. OK, I feel better after venting, but this person doesn't care about the fans here or he wouldn't be so rude! Many of us are happy to own it again, and I'm 38. Saw PJ back in 1992 at Lolla with RHCP, Ministry and Soundgarden all in one day! Best music event I've ever attended!

While it was a bit steep in price, but when you add it up, I'd be willing to pay $40 for an official release of Unplugged, and similar amounts for the other stuff. Yes, it's also about getting a BETTER version of Ten, but when you add it all up, I would gladly have paid the same for just the peripheral items. notebook and tape - a little gimmicky, but hey I'll take it.

And, yes the band did it for money - and the music (particularly Ten). I'm thrilled they're washing off the "atmosphere" from that album. I just recently realized that I don't even have Ten on my Ipod. ...and I never missed it, because it was pretty unlistenable in it's original state. $140 well worth it... to me.
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

I see the Re-issue as a few things.

    1. Totally geared towards the fans who have pleaded and begged and bitched for a remastered version.
    2. Totally geared towards the fans who have pleaded and begged and bitched for a remixed version.
    3. The band has desired a remixed version as well so 1 & 2 fall hand in hand.
    4. MTV Unplugged released on DVD!! Holy Bat Shit Bat Man. Another fan based demand that he band yet again is gearing towards us.
    5. A simply awesome option to choose from different packaged releases for the Fans, Die Hard Fans and The Freaks.

To make it simple, they are giving the majority of there fans what they have asked for and see a nice and intelligent way to make a profit and gear it towards a plan to release all of there albums up to the 20 year anniversary. I think it's great. Not to mention all the little jewels like B-Sides such as Brother and Just a girl to name just a couple. I haver not been this excited about buying something Pearl Jam related in some time and it also gears me up to buy there new album and anything in between and after just that much more.

Sooooooooo, I'm guessing you didn't order one? Good! One less person to worry about getting an autographed set over. Thank you!!

And, you're a bigger fool than everyone who bought one.
You see, those of us who decided to purchase one are VERY happy. Those of you who decided to badmouth those of us who did buy one, have issues!!

They have VERY AFFORDABLE versions of the re-release. I LOVE that technique. I definitely jumped on the Super Deluxe version, but if I couldn't afford it, I was thrilled that there is a cheaper option out there.
Most other bands release these types of "special" sets with NEW BONUS stuff and it's ONLY in the expensive version. You either cough up the dough or you go without. Here, you don't have to go without.

Also, I'm an autograph collector. So, the chance to get something signed by the ENTIRE band KICKS ASS!!!!

Buddy, I don't care how much of a fool you think I am. I love this band and am willing to give them some of my money to get this collectors edition set...

How can you say its not worth it?
You get 2 cd's with two different versions of 10. That's worth $30
You get 4 LP's including the 2 different versions of 10 and the 1992 Concert... The two LP's of ten are probably worth about $75 for both, then the Drop in the Park vinyl is worth who knows because I assume its the first time its available on vinyl, I'll assume its worth say $80 ...but you throw on top of that a 5.1 digital cut of Unplugged!? Seriously I would give $40 just for that DVD but its probably worth $20...then you throw on top of that all of the little extras with the replica and other little add ons and I think this is well worth it...

So based on my estimation this set is worth at least $205 just for the LPs, cd's and the DVD's.

If you don't like it - guess what you don't have to buy it.
