Hip fan email...

Greetings to all. We have some very exciting news to deliver. Our twelfth album, We Are The Same, will be released in North America on Tuesday, April 7th. The album was produced by Bob Rock and recorded primarily at the Bathouse Studio. It contains twelve new tracks that range from levity and light to melancholy and anger. We think it has a little bit for everyone and showcases the great range of the band.

The full track listing is:

Morning Moon
Honey, Please
The Last Recluse
Coffee Girl
Now The Struggle Has A Name
The Depression Suite
The Exact Feeling
Queen of the Furrows
Speed River
Frozen In My Tracks
Love Is A First
Country Day

The opening track, “Morning Moon”, is now available to be streamed from our website, Facebook and MySpace page, as well as our iLike page. Novelists Joseph and Amanda Boyden wrote the new album bio. Please have a read, we think it captures the essence of We Are The Same better then we could ever imagine articulating it ourselves.

I love the single, very laid back. Gord's voice sounds better than anything I've heard since Phantom Power. This album is exciting!

Sweet giving it a listen right now!
Out of the Blue and Into the Black................Uncle Neil Philly 08 here I come!!!!
  • i can honestly say that I have not picked up a tragically hip album since phantom power, and more or less dissmissed them all together, but that new single is pretty good. Maybe its time to give'em a go again.
  • My favorite band of all time has only made one mistake: In View.

I know for a fact that this album will be awesome.

Random Hero, you should check out In Between Evolution, very raw with some thought provoking songs. Gord always knows what to do with a pen and paper it seems.
  • In Between Evolution is a great, great album. Get it.

Im listening to the new single now.....likin it too.

EXCITEMENT!!!! Can't wait to see the hip this summer all over western canada. They are the only band that comes close to pj for me....and the only other band i travel for.....gonna be a good summer!

SOOOO excited!!! :) I read this yesterday at work, and I actually walked by Rob's house thinking "WHEN???" on the way in (I'm not creepy, his house is on my way in to work, honest! I walked past it before I knew it was his house ;)). Loving the song, but then again, I love my Hip.

I've love all their albums. IMO they're a band who always has albums with merit, like PJ... The album might not be my favourite but I have to listen to it until I "get it". Like PJ, they are always saying and doing something more than just putting a bunch of songs together. That said, World Container really hit a nerve. I could listen to it forever, I think.

  • According to my local radio station, Morning Moon is not the first single, but rather Love is A First- to be released on the 27th. Cant wait to hear how this new album is gonna be. Morning Moon is the sound that I was really hoping the boys would find after World Containers' over- polished pop sound. April 7th cant come sooner.
  • SWEEEEET apr 7th come on down......thx for the update

This year is turning out to be extremely music-happy (or, at least, neutral - balancing out the LB and potential Creed reunions and anything Nickelback does this year).
Thanks for posting the update! :)

At first listen, Morning Moon doesn't impress me much. I think it will grow on me though.

I am very excited about this new CD and can't wait until it is out on April 7th. Looking forward to the tour being announced too...
