Smashing Pumpkins - Machina II

Not sure why, but picked this up of the shelf & dusted it off a couple of weeks ago.
Haven't given it a spin for quite some time, and to be honest I'd forgotten just how good it sounds.

I think I may even prefer it to Machina. I just like the feel of it. Some of the tracks kinda got that Neil Young 'live' feel about it.
May sound crazy but I hear Neil Young, I hear Bowie, I hear Velvet Underground, I hear Sabbath.
Plus I think the rough, stiripped down sound works well with Billy's voice.

I know the band gets it's fair share of shit on here, but I think they're output has been up there with the best over the last 20 years.
The 'bits & pieces' albums Pisces Iscariot & Machina II confirm that in my opinion.

Anyone else got any positive views on Machina II? Or am I anone?!!!!!

MACHINA II has some great songs, not comparable to their mid-90s efforts though.
