  • why even bring it up? maybe they wont even mention it. youre fretting over it too much. just wear a low cut blouse and show some leg, and if they do ask, flaunt it. you could probably say just about anything but they will be focused on you and not even care

I just got an email from a company saying they really want to see me for interview and that they've been trying to contact me and to give them a call as soon as possible (they're closed now so i'll have to wait til the morning).

I was wondering how they'd been trying to contact me cos I'd no missed calls or anything. So I read over my attached application with the email and I MISSED A DIGIT IN MY PHONE NUMBER   :? This is a job that is looking for attention to detail and it's actually one that I'd really really love to work at so, do I even bother calling them after that mistake? or how the hell do I explain it away... oh dear... let that be a warning for everyone applying for jobs, lol

Tell them you've changed your phone number and then give them your cell number. That way you don't have to mention your mistake at all. ;)

Be honest. If they're a good company then how you handle yourself with regards to the mistake is probably more valuable to them than the fact that you made one (which only proves that you're human anyway).

This is the real answer. Besides, they more than likely already know you screwed up the phone number, but were willing to email you anyway.
The only people we should try to get even with...

Right 'round the corner could be bigger than ourselves.

yeh, that's what i've figured... at least i might regain some points if i've noticed my mistake and admit up to it straight away... well it's worth a try

  • she saw the funny side of it and it went well, PHEW! :D Also, they had rejected me for another job and somebody advised me to ask them why or if there was anything I could improve on. So she answered my question to that... it was cos they wanted me for THIS job :) so she said that showed good initiative... go team Helen lol. So interview's on Tuesday, I'm gonna be WELL prepared for that one.

Also, I got home and got a call from a company I'd just sent my CV to about half an hour earlier saying that they really wanted to see me and we arranged an interview for tomorrow. She emailed me the directions and stuff... I then googled the company cos it was one of those that seems too good to be true.. paying EXCELLENT wages for a job BREAKING INTO marketing with no experience needed... and funny enough, the first 5 google result pages were them advertising jobs, couldn't find a website for the company. I rang the course people where I've been going the last week and she advised me to call them up gave me a couple of questions to ask. I called them and said 'I've been called for an interview tomorrow and I was just wondering if I could ask a couple of questions first' and she said 'well I'll do my best to help you but I can't give out certain information' so I asked 'does your company have a website cos I can't seem to find it' reply: the website's been taken down cos the old one was outdated :? then I mentioned the pay on the ad and asked if that's basic or commission based and again she replied that she couldn't give me that information but there is an opportunity to earn far more than advertised

I've heard all this before... think I'll give that one a miss then so and stick to the REAL companies! It was a bit out of the way anyway.... so roll on Tuesday :D
