A merger is expected between Ticketmaster and LiveNation. Commemorate it in advance with this performance of "Immortality" from first show of Pearl Jam's 1995 tour, during which the band boycotted Ticketmaster in protest of the service charges they tacked onto ticket prices.

They got a nice YouTube of the performance. Watching it, it made me glad Pearl Jam doesn't do GA shows anymore. Who the fuck crowd-surfs during "Immortality"!?! I'm glad there were terraced bleachers for the show I saw at Red Rocks on the same tour so I didn't risk getting a boot to the head during "Better Man" or something. Granted it was almost 14 years ago and I'll admit that maybe I'm getting a little too old for that shit. However I have been in some rough pits, but usually the music dictates the rowdiness. Those people just look like a bunch of douchebags moshing and crowd-surfing to "Immortality"...

that's funny.. i thought the exact same thing when i saw it.... "why the hell are they doing that during such a slow song"???? just goes to show that some people don't care much about the music at all... they just go to shows to "show off" for people.... they end up looking like a jerk, all these years later and probably during the show itself too....

though i gotta say... i only "surfed" once during a PJ show and that was Harriet Island during Lolly 2..... it was pretty damn fun. : ) but... i was like 18 or so..... and it was during porch...

that was a cool video... and hey even if the kids were surfing that was the vibe back then, it actually makes the video look like Ed is singing to the ocean its hypnotic
