Don't blame WalMart. That was U2.com's doing. As soon as someone pointed out the sample clips, within the hour they were down.

anything would have been a better follow-up to Pop, because Pop is by far their worst record. (my opinion of course)

You're quite mistaken my friend. I think Pop suffers from poor production. Sure it has the ultimate turd of a U2 song (Playboy Mansion), but most of the rest of the album is amazing!
  • The album has leaked and I'm listening to it as we speak, couldn't resist I'm afraid and it sounds incredibly good, just on the strength of the first 7 tracks could very well be their best since Achtung.

POP is a much better album that many give it credit for, I'll take it over AYCLB & HTDAAB.

Pop doesn't suffer from "poor production", it suffers from under production. As in the album was half-assed and by no means finished. They went on tour with an album that they hadn't finished and it shows. A few good songs, yes, but far from their finest hour as a band. And I happen to hate that because I happen to like the complete and radically alt direction that there were going in.

I agree. Achtung and Zooropa are probably my 2 fav U2 albums.
