ok, so, we were all in the car and why go comes on and my brother finally realized that mike is kickass (though he believes the guy from metallica is better). i figured i'd be able to come on here and ask my fellow pearljammers for their favorite mike performances and show my brother how awesome he can REALLY be!
thanks in advance!

Just to name a few: Joe Satriani, Philip Sayce, Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Jeff Beck, Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Joe Bonamassa.
Check those guys out, and you'll see they're amazing.
But, in this case a strong argument you can make against your brother would be that Hammet plays with absolutely no feeling or emotion and just goes out there and plays sloppy and fast. McCready goes out on stage and jams with his heart and soul, like one of his biggest inspirations, Stevie Ray Vaughan. This is not to say McCready can't play fast either, because he surely can. Also Hammet's guitar tone is terrible, and McCready's is warm and fat. (Both good things
Here's my contribution where I think Mike's style and talent is showcased best, even though he is droned out by the bass and drums in parts:

I'm impressed you know Paul Gilbert! Once he and Billy Sheehan were the absolute dream-team on guitar & bass. Did you ever see the guys playing their instruments with drill machines lol? "It's drill time" haha.
