I have an iPod, and have those ridiculous earbuds.

What are some good headphones brands?

Are there other headphones that can work with iPods?

Anyone have really nice headphones? Those outside noise cancelling ones?

I really like the skullcandy ones that are like this:

They've been my favorite for awhile now. Plus they keep my ears warm in the cold.

  • I use the $15.00 Sony headphones for my Ipod. I go threw a pair every 6 months.
  • if you are feel like spending a lot of money once for headphones you can get a pair of bose audio headphones, buds for about $100 and big headphones are $150-200. they are very expensive but are great quality

  • I like these headphones. They're pretty cheap apparently about $22 according to amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Lightweight-Compa ... 655&sr=8-2
I'm on my 2nd pair. My first pair lasted me a good 3 or 4 years.

I'm using one of those as well. Although, I got mine for $20 at Target.

Not that 5 dollars is a lot but I like to get a good bargain, and will take any price cheaper.

I have the Bose on-ear headphone... they are excellent.

I also have a pair of Shure 110 earbud headphones for when I want something compact or need to wear a winter hat.

I also have a pair of the new Sony sport headphones, the ones that roll up and wrap around behind the head.

I'm kind of a weird headphone geek. I went through a dozen pairs before I settled on the sets I have. I never tried the skullcandy headphones, but I hear good things about them.

Those apple earbuds suck something awful. I used to have to have the volume at max all the time just to hear the music. So nice to not have to do that anymore.

I have the Bose over-ear noise-cancelling ones. Love 'em. plus, if you're walking in the cold, they double as earmuffs! ;)
  • I have the Shure SCL4 and they sound great. Very comfortable and are noise cancelling

There is no way they are worth $250! You can't tell me anything that will convince me to spend $250 on headphones!

In the second picture down, I have the style in the top left. They were around $50. I love them, lightweight, stay pretty stable, and the cord length is designed to reach an armband. Someone else in here linked to the bottom left pair I think, and those are excellent as well. Just a matter of what you prefer.

Also, FYI to anyone looking, there's a difference between sound isolating and noise canceling. Sound isolating basically blocks out other sounds naturally by the way the headphones fit. Noise cancellation plays a constant tone that you don't hear because it responds to external noise. It is supposed to be nice, but it also has problems. For some people, it can contribute to ear fatigue. It is also best when you're using it to block out constant noise... like the jet hum on an airplane. It can be less effective if you're wearing it on public transit to block out the variable sounds of a lot of people.

I've had numerous pairs of Skullcandy headphones. They're earbuds suck and the headphones that I had which are similar to yours, broke in like a month. The plastic adjusting piece snapped off while I was removing them from my head.

Skullcandy IMO is crap shit marketed to extreme athletes.

I'd go with some Bose or some Sennheisers personally.

Sennheiser makes some excellent headphones. I prefer them to Bose and they are usually a little cheaper. I've found you pay a little extra for Bose name recognition.

That being said i'm not knocking Bose they make really good headphones too.
