Just had one of the worst and now I'm wide awake. Woke up sweating and trying to catch my breath. Got up walked around and now I'm on here. The dream I'd rather not discuss but it sure wasn't nice. I hate waking up and feeling like this. Anyway thanks for listening.

  • nightmares can really shake you. I remember the last one I had it ruined the whole day for me. That feeling that I had during the nightmare, i carried it with me all day.

I hope you'll be able to get some rest soon, and possible start the day fresh. Good luck to shaking that feeling.

I had a bad one not too long ago. It was awful...I can relate.

The worst in my opinion, though, are when you dream your significant other cheats on you because I've found when I wake up I'm still hurt and mad at him...even though he did nothing wrong!

I know you wouldn't. You're a good man! My first bf, however...not so much.

I had that nightmare and about 7 or 8 years later it happened exactly as I dreamed.

Did it make you wonder about the element of time or just the predictability of the action?

No nothing about a ex cheating but just some scary stuff. That and I fell asleep early didn't help.

:( awww....yeah that is bad. I sometimes cant get to sleep for hours after having a bad one..the worst part is the real scary ones I wake up and dont remember them. Maybe that is good.

I read somewhere that when you wake up and start moving around is when you forgot most of what you dreamed.

The element of time. Why so far ahead??
Remembering the dream as it was actually happening was really crazy

  • I also had Chinese food last nite. Maybe that played a part also.

Do you find you have more nightmares after eating chinese?

I don't think I ever had such a dream, but I have had many dreams where I was hooking up with girls not my gf. I don't think it was cheating in the dream though, but who knows.

I do occasionally have dreams about an ex-gf I'm still hung up on though... those always mess with my day. I wake up feeling depressed and angsty. Thankfully, they're not as common as they once were.

When I was a kid, I had a nightmare that haunted me for weeks... I couldn't sleep with the lights out for a month. Scared the shit out of me. I don't have dreams like that anymore. My nightmares are pretty mild anymore. I love dreams generally, so even the bad ones I wake up rattled but kind of buzzed from the fear... like seeing a scary movie or riding a good roller coaster :)

Nightmares suck...my meds cause me the worst nightmares ever (which is a common side effect) - so vivid and horrific...I wake up bathed in sweat at least three or four times a week....Woke up out of breath the other morning and my face was all red and my shirt was soaked...plane crashes, earthquakes, beatings, big nasty motor vehicle accidents...mostly I don't remember them, but some I do and yeah...have a horrible unsettled feeling all day. I was telling my husband about one and he couldn't believe the minute detail I remembered (like the smell)....

However, last night I dreamt that I had a major stack of 45 adapters and I was so happy (I haven't had any of those for years)... they figured very prominently in this dream...anyway, this AM, when I was drying my hair, out of the corner of my eye, I saw on the floor sticking out from under the carpet - a 45 adapter! WTF!

I've had a lot of distaster dreams come true, too...it's horrible. But I have to be really really stressed in order for that to happen...it's creepy...

But I am sorry to hear that others have the misfortune of nightmares...

I've been having nightmares every damned night for at least four months. Never had a problem before in my life. It might be a med side effect, which would be bad, 'cause I've been stable on them for awhile otherwise. But the dreams are exhausting. and I get really irritable. The only good thing about the consistency is that, for the most part, my mind has gotten really good at blocking out the content once I wake up. I'm going to see a sleep specialist this week as part of a sleep study. We'll see. Blah. :(
  • I sometimes dream I'm smoking a cigarette again and am very freaked out by it. Quit after the last Vienna show.

I have lots of apocalyptic nightmares. But it's not so much the end of the world, hellfire and brimstone that get me. It's how long it takes for the world to end. I know I'm gonna die. Just get it over with already.

I realized that so many of my dreams in the recent past were negative or gory b/c I was watching so many cop shows on TV or CSI, right before bed. I decided I needed to watch something funny instead.

when you dream of your ex, it could be because of unresolved conflicts.

I guess it wasn't completely apocalyptic... considering my ex-boyfriend helped me save the world with his mad super powers or something... what the hell is THAT trying to tell me?
