Not sure if anyone would have this answer, but lets say you were slated for 4th row, but your number is drawn as one of the lucky 9-10 seating. Do you think you get 4th or 9-10? Just curious if they will be able to look at seniority first. In no way complaining, just wondering.

Good question... I think that they will fill the rows by seniority leaving open the rows for the lottery, then they will draw from everyone that is not included in those first bunch of rows.

    just my thoughts

I asked the ten club about this. They said if senority placed you in row 4 you could not then be randomly selected for rows 9-10.

Question - If seniority places you in row 4, is there a possibility that you could then be randomly selected for row 9 or 10 and moved back? I know you are busy so thanks for answering.

They didn't just say "no" they said "NO" :)

  • Here's how I think they'll do it...strikes me as the only entirely fair way...

    1) Draw for rows 1-2 before seating anyone by seniority. So they take all the 10C members that have tickets to the show and throw them in a hat. The winners get rows 1 or 2, regardless of 10C number.

    2) Seat rows 3-8 by seniority, minus the people who've already been drawn. This way, those that got "bumped" out of rows 1 or 2 by the random drawing still get the best possible seats out of what's left, and the seniority seating essentially gets pushed back 2 rows.

    3) Of those left to be seated, draw randomly for rows 9-10.

    4) Seat the remaining 10C members by seniority.

This way, you can think of the entire "normal" seating arrangement being pushed back 2 rows, as if they simply started seating at row 3. Of course, someone who would've been in row 1 or 2 anyway could get randomly drawn, but for the most part we can assume most of the people normally in the first 2 rows won't be there. Then the same thing again at rows 9 and 10. Effectively the seniority seating will simply "skip" rows 1, 2, 9 and 10.

If they just drew all 4 rows without seating anyone by seniority, then the aforementioned problem would arise: someone who would be in row 3 by seniority (since their "normal" 1st row seats are taken) might end up in row 10 by the random drawing! Thus, the lowest numbers could get "bumped" twice.

Seems to me that the only way to ensure that everyone not in the random rows gets the best seats possible is to do it as outlined above.

On the other hand, we're not talking about all that many seats. I've heard approx. 42 per row, for a total of 168 seats or 84 members total that will be randomly placed. To put that in perspective, that means rows 3 - 8 would contain 252 seats or 126 members. Not to mention the many rows behind row 10 that will still be fan club territory.

It all comes down to how much effort 10C wants to put into it, and how well they've thought it through. With only a dozen or so shows, I can't imagine the above process would be too hard to implement.
