Surely not that many people werent 10 Club members. I would have assumed that 80-90% of people who posted in the old pit would have been members!?!?!?!?!

And all that bitching about it being shut down and people couldnt post????? You mean to tell me they wouldnt pay the $20 or so dollars!?!?!?

as to the rest, quite honestly, i disagree. absolutely, we ARe missing a few people who definitely posted a LOT, created a lot of threads, etc. however, i look around at the vast majority who are posting here....and they are still here....and simply posting less. i am posting less. i really think it's still all growing pains, getting accustomed to this place, etc. and sure....many who do post here are also choosing to split up their time more, elsewhere, instead of posting almost exclusively here as they did in the past. that is evidenced by many posts right in this thread, and the OP himself. i'm not elsewhere...unless you count actually working elsewhere. i'm gearing up to a work busy season, so old pit or new, i'd be here a lot less. we've gone thru other boards in the past, transitional times, etc. also notice, some banned members are now back in the mix, so i think there's still plenty of 'people' about....just not quite posting, yet. i think, slowly, it's getting more active. and absolutely....tour announcement....and it'll be hoppin'! just my own hypothesis.

you make very good points and most of them i agree with it. but with the board transitions in the past it was still free to post. this board isnt free and that hurts big time on this "community board"

that point has been 'argued' to death. i am not defending that move. it is what is it is, it's done....so i see no point harping on it. i still think, the amount of people 'lost' from the transition is probably 'made up' by all the banned members who now are back and able to post. there really aren't THAt many people who posted regularly, who are no longer with us. i think many willingly CHOOSE not to post here, but could if they desired. i think this thread clearly illustrates that, seeing just how many people mentioned they hardly come here, go elsewhere more often, etc....i think once 'real' album news strikes, and the tour to follow....they'll all come back. no matter what, this is still a 'community'...even if it's not a free one.

quite honestly, i am really unconcerned about it all, i will always come back to this place. i really have zero interest in elsewhere, and if not for pj i probably never would've gotten involved in ANY message board. now that i actually have a deskjob, during down times it is a godsend. :P sooooo many people have come and gone over the years its remarkable....and it's all a choice, and we all have to decide for ourselves, so it is what it is. besides, this place was always so cyclical, so it'll come round again.
