  • So overplayed on the radio back in '03 that I hate it even to this day. That, and the Penn State marching band plays it every time their football team gets a first down. LAME.

haha yeah the ppl in my apt building used to overplay the shit out of this song, on repeat even!!

i can now take it in small doses, there's usually a "dance"/crowd sing-along to us at toronto raptor games inbetween the 3rd & 4th quarters
"ah fuck it get in trouble"

  • I love it and that song is actually what drove me to buy a White Stripes album. I never got tired of it because I don't listen to the radio, but I'm sure it was one of those that people who do got absolutely sick of hearing
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all

I like seven nation Army, but it was overplayed radio wise. That being said "Elephant" is a brilliant record. Although my fave white stripes record is De Stijl hands down, but Elephant is damn good.

Yeah, it is without a doubt a great song, overplayed or not (though I am one of those people who don't listen to the radio, outside of Sirius, so I don't think it is).

My only problem with it is that the bass line (or technically the guitar line) gets stuck in my head for hours after hearing it!

this song got me into the stripes. such a great song. its one of the few songs I remember hearing for the first time. I know exactly where I was, what I was doing.

only other song I can say that about is evenflow.

The ridiculously overwhelming majority of people who listen to the radio...

I had the good fortune of never hearing this on the radio, and thus still love it. hell, I have no idea where i heard it in the first place.
In terms of good radio, just a few weeks ago I discovered 91.5 in NYC. They have some kind of deal worked out with KEXP in Seattle. Great stuff on weekday mornings.
  • audioslave used to play a killer version of this song

At my daughter's dance recital, a group did a routine to Seven Nation Army, but the instrumental part sounded like strings of some sort with the lyrics. I have googled it and searched on youtube for this version, but all I can find is a version by VitaminRecords and another by Divisi Strings that have only the instrumental with no lyrics.

Has anyone else ever heard this? Not sure if it was Jack White singing on it or someone else, but it sounded really cool. My husband who mostly hates this song because of its use at Penn State games really liked it, too.

Exactly. Where was the OP?

Still love The White Stripes and the album this songs is on, Elephant. But I can live without this song, especially since every college sport's band plays it.

I think most people are sick of it, but man what a riff. When was the last time before 7NA a a riff entered the Iron Man/Whole Lotta Love/Smoke on the Water discussion?
  • There is a version of it on the new GI Joe trailer. It is done by The Glitch Mob. Kind of a dubstep version. I really like it. It seems more powerful here. You can hear more of the nuance in Jack's voice.
