So I can't make it to the D.C show and...

I was curious as to how I can sell my tickets to a Fan Club member. I won't be able to make it to D.C to even pick up the tickets so I don't know what to do. Do I need to call the fan club and tell them the situation? Also who is interested in these tickets? My fan club membership number is: 187xxx, not sure if it qualifies for when I give these up though.

Thanks

5/23/2011- An utter embarrassment... ticketing failures too many to list.
  • they seem to be cracking down on transfers this time. you are from close by so it's not like is about coming from across the country being too expensive.

might want to overplay the "dire" nature of the conflict.

    good luck.

Does everyone not understand that all ticket sales are final? Does everyone not understand that most if not all of the fan club ticket handling is manual? If they didnt stick with this policy it would cost them hundreds of man hours and would increase the likelyhood for error. I cant believe all of the people that have this problem talking about it on here when some of us get shut out on the tickets that we want.

and thats a good thing....transfers are means for people to scalp their low 10c numbers.

Hey man no need to get upset. I purchased these tickets with full intent to go, however my band was offered a show that I feel is more important then this one especially since I'm going to 2 other ones anyway. Just the fact that I'm explaining myself is stupid, but don't get upset about not having tickets when you had the same opportunity as me to get them online.

There is a way. If you absolutely trust the person you are selling them to, you could mail them your drivers liscense and he could use it. They never look to make sure its you.....they just get the name off of the id, then give you the tickets. Then he can mail it back to you.

Now you're not out the cash!

    Hope this helps.

I dont understand how exchanging with another active 10C member would cause that big of an issue. The funds have already been transferred, they`ve got their greedy hands on the money already .......

Sorry but I am not upset. I have tickets to both nights at MSG and I am flying in and staying at a four star hotel. I did not intend to come across like a dick but there have been many many threads like this one. When I was referring to those that could not get tickets I was not referring to myself.

They should allow members to donate them for a charitable cause, and let the member take the tax deduction. At least then it wouldnt be a total loss and the seats would get filled.

I know. It's too bad that there isn't a system in place to allow transfers. I know peolpe with 10C tickets to Mansfield & Tampa that they can't use and they are just going to go to waste.

I did a transfer in 2006 and that was nice. It got me into the show so I was happy. :)

Thinking now I'm gonna just skip the show and just check out the sites in DC and then drive up to NYC.

Yup. You are basically stuck with the $150 expense for tickets you won't use and your seats will likely sit empty at the show.

The seats won't be empty. The almighty 10 club resells those tickets that are not picked up by showtime and makes money on those tickets twice. That's bullshit if you ask me.

It's great that they told everybody in advance that all sales will be final and there are no transfers but you know what they have said that same thing every other time they have sold tickets and they have still allowed transfers. That's why people are upset! No consistency in the policies.

So 10C tickets are the ones that become available the day of the show? I really hope that is not how this works when there are obviously 10C members who would gladly pay for / transfer the tickets.

There are two problem with tranfers (not counting increased admin work for 10 Club). First, as what's happned in the past, folks with low 10C numbers buy tickets to all shows then sell them to folks with high numbers, undoubtably for profit. This screws those with medium numbers keeping them back. Second shows that sell out quick as did the MSG shows, some folks may get shut out cause these violators are getting through then reselling to freinds. Like the donating to charitable cause so you can write off cost....and would be cool....but again lots of additional work for folks at 10C. For those that think that transfers weren't a big deal.....I saw all the transfer tickets at the Gorge....there were hundreds. It may suck for some that lost their $150.00 dollars....but there really isn't another way.

Patrickredeyes, I may possibly have my second 10C ticket to DC as an extra..if I do I'll let you know.

What the hell do admin FEES have to do with it? I`ve pitched my $15-$20 in every year since `99. I`ve spent god knows how much on tickets, merch, bootlegs and anything else I can to support the band, but admin FEES are the issue? What are we paying for? A vinyl, two newsletters, and a server that crashes when we need it to work properly?

Just give members fair access to the tickets and you`ll have a lot less complaining.
