during the overnight a report surfaced that citi was going to cancel its naming rights deal with the Mets. So far both sides are denying this.

    I'm no public relations expert, but I'm guessing that when your company is going under and 50,000 of your former employees have been laid off, slapping your name on a stadium for 400 million isn't going to go over well with the public...

    I agree but I'm fairly sure alot of this deal was in place (maybe not in writing) before the shit really hit the fan. Therein lies the dilemma in these situations...

    That's up to them to decide. There also have been some rumblings about Wilpon selling his stake in the team because of the money he lost to Bernie Madoff.
