an idea for a poem

I had an idea once
Then it slipped through my fingers
That's the problem with ideas
If you hold onto them too long
Without ever using them
They turn into thoughts
Then from thoughts to memories
From memories to forgotten
There are too many things I've forgotten
Too many ideas gone to waste
If I could scoop them up
and rethink them again
I wonder what I'd be
Who I'd be
Where I'd be
And possibly
Who would I'd be with
When I have the next idea
I will treat it with more care
For if I put it in motion
Who knows where my future may go,
I'm open to ideas...
"I'm not present, I'm a drug that makes you dream"

I'm like that too, I always have to write stuff down- therewise I'll forget them.
