Shut Up! ???

I know some people just cant stand all the political rants during concerts and all that, but I now think I'm jumping onto that boat....
I use to really like listening to PJ shows and hearing Vedder's rants (it was partly why I went to more than 1 show a tour) or some of the stuff Ani says. More times then not I agree with vedder, or any artist I listen to, but listening to the bootlegs it's got to the point where I'm just thinking 'shut up already.' Even though I'm becoming more and more liberal as I get older, I care less and less what some 'musician' has to say. Their opinions are meaningless to me, and really isn't entertaining.
I rarely listen to PJ live anymore and rather the studio stuff. But bands like the pixies and replacements, and lou reed is straight up rock and roll. no nonsense i get pure music and rock and roll. between the joking with crowds or yelling at them, It's rock and roll not a town hall meeting. I wanna be amused and rocked, I'll pick up the paper or turn on cnn when I want opinions about current events.
maybe I'm just getting too old and grouchy before my time, I don't know. anyone else feel like this??

However, in the age of iTunes and such, it's pretty easy to edit out the talking parts if they're not in the middle of a track.

Er, right?
i dont mind the stories though, just the politics. like the story about the horse and the kid on the 2000 ireland bootleg is one of my favorite 2000 moments on disc.
and about obama and sunshine and gumdrops. LULZ
lets not get this moving train passing through this town though.
I think part of the problem is that very few musicians are articulate enough to speak adequately on stage, and this isn't just in regard to politics. Jeff Tweedy can pull off some witty stage banter and storytelling . . . and he's about the only one I can think when it comes to the music I enjoy. He's total pro . . .
