  • yeah my brother was trying to get phish tickets for me yesterday morning and had the biggest trouble with those waiting rooms and the site freezing... i ended up having to get lawn seats because he could never get it to work, so i just bought them when i got home. which i guess is OK, but still.

    **edit**
i also need to mention that their fees are even worse than ticketmaster's also. the phish tickets were like 43.50 but the fees associated with the site were over $12 per ticket. that's more than 25%!! not to mention the venue charged a $6 parking fee.

Dude, I paid $8 in fees for tickets that had a face value of $16 on Ticketmaster 2 weeks ago. I'd much rather pay 25% rather than 50%

I have been reading the articles on how upset phish fans are about the live nation experience. It seems like they definitely weren't prepared. The whole ticket purchasing experience has become such a hassle. I bought Springsteen tickets today and the have revamped their site as well...and not for the better. I ended up with ok seats and am thankful for that because soon after I guess the site was undergoing maintenance due to the inability to deal with the traffic. I feel bad for the phish fans because it seems like plenty of them didn't get tickets, or lost them while checking out. The virtual waiting room is bullshit. I have dealt with it for sox tickets and its a huge pain in the ass. It should be first come, first serve all the time. Thankfully I have a friend you was able to get lottery tickets for phish and is giving me one, other wise I am sure I would be right there with everyone else pissed off.

So many acts recently signed with them, including U2. If they fuck up the U2 ticket sales I am going to be ripshit.

You mean "when" they fuck up the U2 sales, cause thats a certainty.

  • In the end, it's just going to vary, show to show, venue to venue. They both suck, and neither is superior to the other in any way.

Just recently on Livenation, I bought a pair of tickets that were $25 face value per tick and paid $65 total. And then a show on ticketmaster, the tickets were $18 face value per ticket, and paid $62 total. So in that instance, Ticketmaster sucked.

Then for two other shows recently, on Ticketmaster the tickets were $47 face value, and paid $119 total for the pair, and then on Livenation, a pair were $33 per ticket, and ended up payng $98 total, so in that instance, ticketmaster was slightly better.

Well we won't have to worry about which one is worse for long as they're set to merge:

Tried for Phish tickets and what a joke that was. I spent over a hour (more like 2) trying and never got anything. The site would crash or keep you in a long ass que before giving you a error message. BTW why two ques? At least on TM it was one que and you either got someting or nothing. LN was not ready for the change over.
