Someone posted about Hype! over on the Porch, and it reminded me of About a Son, which I watched last weekend.
Honestly, I don't really understand why this was a movie. Yeah, the audio interviews with Kurt were fascinating, but there visual component was as dirt dull as it gets. Basically, it was a bunch of really generic shots generally related to Kurt's words. So lots of logs, Washington cities/towns, trees. YAWN. I actually let my laptop screen go dark, turned over, and listened to the movie. So why finance a film? Put it on a CD, or in Azzerad's book (which it may be - I haven't read), and save the money.

and the fact that youve felt the need to comment that the visuals were dirt dull means youve totally missed the point.

I did understand how they complemented the story, and tried to make a larger point about where Kurt came from. But I don't think it sustains itself for an hour and a half.
