I watched Hype! last night for the first time in about 7 years. It's a really good documentary. If you haven't seen it, check it out! That's all I got.

    I've always wanted to see Hype! and have kept my eyes open for it but never caught it. Any suggestions? Maybe it's time to bite the bullet and buy the DVD. How much time do they devote to PJ?

    I saw it when it first came out and also own the dvd and vhs. haha I love it. :) It's definitely a fun watch, especially for us that live in the PNW and remember all of the bands. ;)

    yeah i have had the vhs for a few years. i just don't have anything to play a vhs on anymore. i signed up for netflix a few weeks ago and put it on my list. i would try to check it out if you haven't seen it. eddie talks a decent amount, matt cameron is in it quite a bit too. although he was in soundgarden then. they also play not for you at the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bP5zdVVbNNo

    I agree, born in '82, I was to young to appreciate the musical explosion of the early 90's. I didn't start listening to (good) music until mid 90's. Totally missed young PJ and Kurt. However, totally love my sub pop compilations.

    To the original post subject matter, I love Hype!. If you haven't seen it, go get it.

    I love Hype ! though, as a Gits fan, it makes me both happy and sad. Happy because I love their music and it takes my mind back to The Off Ramp in 91 when I caught The Gits live. Sad, because their talent wasn't allowed to reach full bloom.

    Yes, I've been meaning to pick this up for a while as well. This thread finally made me buy it for 8 dollars on half.com brand new. I was too young to go to crazy concerts like that as well unfortunately.

    Reading through this thread has prompted me to order it. I used to have it on VHS and all my stuff is in storage. Gonna order the DVD though. Is it expanded on DVD?

    It was a great time in The Seattle Scene, I was lucky enough to attend about 2/3rds of the shows and have several shots in the Vid! Every now I then I love to watch it to remember some of the great bands/ places/ times! If anyone ever had the chance to go to the Rckndy I am sure they would agree it was some magical moments in time!

    they still do that. during my punk/harcore days, i'd beat the shit outta people who did that to girls or just shove em really hard and say how would you like it if someone did that your sister or cousin
