Mostly sucks, but there are some highlights.
Sons 17th birthday yesterday, helped him install an Alpine deck and speakers in his ride.
Daughter starting point guard tonight against rival team, after sitting out Tuesday from a rolled ankle.
    Brother got laid off.
G Ma having more tests done.

And I have also knocked back a good chunk of NyQuil lately.

    Coffee pot almost empty.

not as good as your week :)
These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.

finished the last of my favorite coffee this week. makes me sad. i'm not usually one who buys Starbucks, but my sister gave me some of their Christmas Blend back in 2006, and now I buy it every year. i've called all of the starbucks in the area & they're out!! dangit.

it's a fine cup of coffee.

aside from that, i booked a gig in Dallas, my wife has strep throat, worked too much, i slipped on the ice & cut up my hand & i started prepping the bathroom for painting. not a bad week!

yay---just remembered that The Office & 30 Rock are on tonight! 8-)

    Let's see.

    Monday was typical.
Big ice storm Tuesday night - tons of ice (for Dallas) overnight.
No school for the kids Wednesday. I worked from home (as I do every Wednesday anyway damn the luck).
Wife went to sleep clinic overnight Wednesday night to be checked for apnea.
    Work today is typical.

Pretty boring except for the ice. Which is good because I was freezing my ass off in Iowa last week and then put up a new fence in my back yard over the weekend.

    errr.....my week is OK.
had the insurance guy over last night, fun, fun...and decided waaayyyyyy too pricey, stick with our insurance through work, for now anyway. hubby just got our cell phone bill lowered $10 a month....and we are currently looking to refinance our mortgage again. you see the theme? ;) yep....tis our 'big plan' of the new year.....SAVE money! save more, have more, build up the ole nest egg more....etc. yep.....only do local pj shows when the tour is announced. :P

oh and our sidewalk is a skating rink today.........

    otherwise, life is good. :)

    i LOVE painting!
probably the cheapest/easiest way to transform a room!
i just love home projects in general...haha.

last year we did our LR in a sexy red....love it!
and just this past december we redid our bedroom - a beautiful charcoal grey - also made window valances together.....and we painted our office a mustard yellow. looks great! makes our old house look sorta new!

    ENJOY!

oh yea...the most important question: what COLOR are you painting? :geek:

haven't done much of anything but damn happy the weekend is lamost here. And fuck coffee step up to a real drink cappuccino :D

And please don't talk about removing wallpaper. I have an entire living and dining room and hallway which I have to scrape. I've been putting it off till after the holidays and really don't wanna do it at all especially since most of the living room is plaster walls  But a $50 investment in a steamer should make the job earier.

decides2dream---we're painting it a light green. can't remember the exact name of the color at the moment..
it's probably something strange, though. like.."misty sunwashed forest green" hehe

yeah...GET THE STEAMER!! or else, you're screwed!!! i was lucky w/ the bathroom, though. it was old & it came right up because all of the adhesive had dried up and cracked away. but there was one corner that just about made me lose it.

there are ways that you can paint directly over the wallpaper now. (which is what my wife wanted me to do b/c it was less work) but there's always the chance that the paint won't hold on the paper...which was a risk that i wasn't wanting to take.

We actually had to do that in our bathroom. When the previous owners put up the paper they did it incorrectly, and when we went to take it down the drywall came with it. :( Luckily we were doing remodeling at the time and already had workers here so they called in the experts. Not only did we need new drywall but it had to be textured too! Ugh, I hate wallpaper!!!

    nice!
    :)

we were lucky too. our house is OLD....as in, 1922. but we were fortunate in that only 2 rooms had any wallpaper, and it too was OLD...no steaming necessary. just peeled off, sanded and primed.

it definitely is a risk to paint over wallpaper...i'd rather remove as well, although sure...can be a bitch to do!

we actually wallpapered one wall in our bedroom with 'paintable wallpaper'....b/c this one crack, no matter how many times mended.....just keeps reappearing....so wallpapered it to cover, and then painted to match the rest of the walls....and it looks fantastic. 8-) the wall simply looks textured. really nice. necessity is the mother of invention.

we've done soooo much to our home, most of it ourselves.....and there is still always so much more i'd love to do! and sure, some stuff...such as having the wood floors refinished, well it's been so long...high time to do again. :| we leave it to pros...but such a nightmare, clearing ALL furniture out, keeping the dogs out, etc......so yea...our floors look a lot more ragged than they should. :P

i can't wait until tomorrow 7PM....the official beginning of my weekend!

knocking out the plaster was a thought but the mess is horrible and I'd still have to remove wallpaper from the dining room (drywall underneath) and along the party wall and hallway.... so figure I'll just end up steaming the paper off and if I hit any snags in the living room I won't hesitate to tear out the plaster and hang drywall
