What you read is what you get?

Me and another Pit friend were talking about past tours, all the people we've met from here and comparing people's board personality to their "in-person" personality.

So I was wondering if you alter your personality on here because it's the internet and you can, or are you the 'what you read is what you get' kind of person? :?:

I've met quite a few from here, not as many as you though. I'd have to say everyone I've met has been pretty much as I expected, with one or two exceptions, where I got the gender wrong. :o All have been great! :)

i am definitely a what you see is what you get person...altho perhaps a bit more vulgar in person.
most i've met, and i've met LOTS, pretty much as expected....although i will say, some definitely more shy/reserved in person than their online persona. :)

Yeah the gender thing is a big one, especially if someone's kept it quiet! But I'd say most people are nicer in person than on here. For example, one guy on here who most people can't stand is really the biggest sweetie around. I always want to 'out' him hehehe 8-)

Exactly, and I wouldn't know how to anyway. :? Plus, one of the reasons I'm on here is to meet people at the shows or in town so what's the point? ;)

I think Speedy does a good job of showing most of his faces on here, so I think a lot of people know he's a sweetie. He just prefers not to give a rats ass most of the time. ;)

this is also very true ;)

when i was in Dublin i was kinda quieter but thats cos i had the wife with me... and she gets annoyed with me if i fart around and leave her standing for 40 minutes on her own.. she also keeps slapping me cos of things i say... which can get a bit annoying.

I've met up woth most of the Uuros who frequent here and they are as lovely as their on screen persona.. CHime, VV, Redrock, eMMi... all lovely people... Byrnzie is a fucking animal... as is Irish Al... and Helen has an amazing stayin awake/drinking capacity... not as good as mine like, but good all the same.... ;) but she is just the same on here as she is in real life (thats scary isnt it)

i really want to meet up with more of these guys again.. next PJ show!!! :D

yeah i figured with it being a new board and all that'd i'd try and make it a new start with anyone i might have had issues with before... so i pm'd him, asking if he was going to stay good etc ... and he ignored it :D:D fucking big baby

i figured life was too short to be an immature fuckwit... apparently not.

you were a lot quieter in person - and the wife wasn't with you - and i've found that to be true for a few. all you mention, sans byrnzie(never met)...i too have met and loved! so, so, sooooo many american, european, canadian, south american and australian fans met on the road......fantastic times! altho given how many i've met, sure...there are a few i could live without, haha....but overall......all great experiences and most i would love to hang with more! :) i really cannot think of one person i've met that was sooo *different* from how they are here...some a bit quieter or louder....some didn't look quite as i imagined....but that's also so much FUN getting to find out and experience first-hand in real life.

I actually wasn't even talking about Speedy, but I like the you are trying to make a new start w/people you may have had issues with. Though we haven't met, I think like Speedy I think you come off as a gruff hilariously rude kind of person but I bet you're a sweetie in person too. :D

I think I'm nicer and more polite on here than I am in person. I'd like to be rude on soo many occasions, but on the rare instances that I am it seems to cause more trouble than its worth.

It's cute how some people are so shy in person at first....but a couple of beers later and they're on fire!

A little off topic, but I just read your sig Foxy of Fanch's little song and now I can't get that out of my head.

For the most part everyone I've met through here is pretty much how I pictured them - though a few have surprised me by being a lot different.
